Job Description The Product Manager is responsible for establishing a deep product expertise from a technical and market perspective, solving industry and client challenges. This particular position will be specialising in the consumer lending market, requiring specialist understanding of the industry and data used within it with a focus on extracting value, benefits, features and functionality translating into client and customer value. You will be responsible for defining product innovation and executing into product roadmaps, Supporting go-to market plans and marketing campaigns for specific products. Reporting into our Head of Product Management this position will require you to innovate and challenge the status quo as the market evolves to new legislation. Our data driven products are market leading and we are looking to recruit a Product Manager, who is ideally experienced in working with data, products and services within the Financial Services Domain. We ask that you have Good understanding of the Affordability rules under which regulated lenders are expected to assess consumers including the Consumer Credit Act and the FCA handbook. Able to strategise about what current and new data sources could be used to enhance the accuracy of affordability assessments and to establish new approaches. Qualifications Product Management experience Knowledge of the available data sources relevant to the assessment of affordability for the purpose of consumer credit lending. Proven experience in leading Product Innovation execution Experience in credit reference data and open banking data Experience of the lenders JTBD in the risk and affordability decision flows for both new and existing customers. Awareness of relevant regulation and regulators. This is a hybrid role requiring travelling to Nottingham / London office circa 40% per month reporting into out Engineering Director. This an opportunity to join Credit & Verification Services on this journey and be part of a collaborative team that uses Agile DevSecOps principles to deliver value. Credit and Verification Services comprises nearly 100 engineering teams who deliver over 200 products achieving significant revenue per annum for our UK Business. Our Tech: We're predominantly a .NET focused engineering team, building modern, cloud-native applications using the latest in .NET 8+. All new services are developed with a forward-looking mindset, and we evaluate latest features and tools to continuously improve our engineering practices. Our architecture is built on Kubernetes (EKS), allowing us to run scalable, resilient microservices in the cloud (AWS). Main Responsibilities: You will provide high-quality software solutions within agreed timelines, ensuring alignment with business requirements and Agile principles. Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for high-quality software solutions Take ownership of the overall technical architecture, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and maintainability of the software systems. Champion the adoption of best practices in software development, including clean code, maintainability, efficient coding standards, and DevSecOps practices. Collaborate with cross-functional team members. Manage technical risks and issues, proactively identifying potential challenges and developing mitigation strategies. Provide clear and concise documentation for code, processes, and system architecture Mentor senior and junior developers, providing technical expertise, code reviews. Qualifications Hands-on experience with .NET 6+ or .NET Core or .NET Framework building scalable REST/SOAP/RPC APIs with proficiency in C#. Practical experience with Docker and Kubernetes for containerized application development, deployment, and orchestration. Experience leading large software teams Able to articulate complex ideas, solutions, and feedback to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience building secure, mission-critical, high-volume transaction web-based software systems, in regulated environments.
