DPS-Automation Engineer 2 Month contract initially Based: Hybrid/Sheffield or Birmingham or Edinburgh (Max 3 days p/w onsite) Rate: £Market rates p/d (via Umbrella company) We have a great opportunity with a world leading organisation where you will be provided with all of the support and development to succeed. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Data Protection Automation Engineer. You should have excellent knowledge of the scrum framework, with all its artifacts and techniques. You'll also need the ability to coordinate people and projects with your mind set on deliverables. Key Responsibilities: Contribute to sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests Work collaboratively as part of a team and be an excellent individual contributor Design, develop, test and support automation for the data protection services (NetBackup and CommVault). Design, develop, test and support reporting and monitoring capabilities for the automation. Provide engineering support on the bank's data protection automation and their use. Undertake product evaluation, new features, and versions. Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for all automation produced. Mentor less experienced members of staff Key Skills & Experience: Highly practiced with use of collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence) Hands on experience in Devops SCM tooling, with expert level use of GitHub Have excellent knowledge of Scrum techniques and artifacts (such as definition of done, user stories, automated testing, backlog refinement) Comprehensive experience in configuration management and orchestration using Redhat Ansible Extensive knowledge of software development languages, including Python, Bash (recruiters please note, this is not a separate requirement and is in addition to Ansible/AAP - not instead of) Proficient in designing, developing, and testing Rest API services.
