Role: Principal Civil/Structural Engineer Location: Devonport(Occasional site visit) Duration: 12 months(Long term - project goes until Dec 2028) Inside IR35 The role We are looking for a Principal Civil/Structural Engineer ‎to support delivery of civil/structural subway systems as part of the subways Team in Devonport. Lead on the Structural / Civil works required for: • Refurbishment design proposals for the existing extant subways within the 10D site. Day-to-day, you’ll be supporting the engineering capability of the new systems through the design lifecycle in accordance with the design process. Key responsibilities will include: • Lead and manage one or more technical design packages ensuring requirements are met through the design process, • Provide technical design guidance and review of sub-contract design to ensure compliance with specifications, technical regulations and standards, • Collaboration across engineering functions and stakeholders to integrate designs within the overall facility layout and manage interfaces, • Maintaining the engineering configuration of the design intent (change control) Essential experience: • Design of high complex services subways/routes preferably in a Nuclear/ Regulated environment, • Regulations, legislation and standards that are applicable to civil/structural design and construction (including Principal Designer responsibilities under CDM), • Substantiation of SFR’s when identified within systems to support the nuclear safety case, • Able to demonstrate relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle., • Provide expert advice to the sub-contracted design houses to enable them to develop the design., • Sound understanding of engineering design and safety practice as relevant to discipline, post and project requirements., • Experience of working in BIM environments., • Awareness of project planning, project management and budgeting., • Sound understanding of company and departmental procedures relating to Design, Health & Safety and Quality requirements and ability to manage projects in accordance with these procedures., • Collaborate with other design houses regarding the proposed works and the required changes to the subways to facilitate their designs., • Support development and lead implementation of assurance and governance activities for subway remedial works and new design development Qualifications • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering., • Chartered Engineer with membership of an accredited body (i.e. ICE) or working towards chartered status. Or significant experience. Due to the nature of the work carried out at our client’s site, these roles are subject to specific nationality requirements and are only open to sole British citizens. Candidates who meet this criterion will also be required to undergo security clearance vetting.

Civil Engineer Permanent | Hybrid/Remote (UK) | Travel as Required An exciting opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer to support the delivery of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects. This is a technically focused, collaborative role working across development, design, procurement, and construction teams to ensure civil works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with UK and international standards. You will take ownership of civil design coordination, support project delivery from concept to construction, and act as the technical interface between internal stakeholders and external engineering partners. Key Responsibilities • Produce and coordinate civil and structural designs compliant with relevant standards and CDM requirements, • Assess and define civil works scope including foundations, piling programmes, drainage, internal roads, and cut & fill analysis, • Review surveys and technical studies (geotechnical, hydrological, FRA, topographical) to inform design decisions, • Manage and review external engineering designs and reports, ensuring alignment with agreed specifications, • Provide technical support during construction, resolving engineering challenges and liaising with subcontractors, • Act as the main technical interface between internal departments, clients, and outsourced civil engineering partners About You • HNC/HND minimum; BSc/BEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred, • Experience within renewables, energy storage, DNO/ICP, consultancy, or related engineering environments, • Strong understanding of UK and international engineering standards and CDM regulations, • Proficient in AutoCAD (Tekla Tedds/Structural Designer advantageous), • Knowledge of drainage design, SuDS, and foundation design for mounting systems, substations, transformers, and BESS, • Structured, organised, and confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills Desirable • Experience in Solar PV and utility-scale project development, • Familiarity with pile load testing and detailed foundation design, • Exposure to multi-jurisdiction projects and working across time zones, • Knowledge of Energy Storage Systems Why This Role This position offers the chance to work at the forefront of renewable infrastructure, contributing to decarbonisation through technically complex solar and storage projects.
