JOB PURPOSE Working with stakeholders within and outside IT, the Architecture function ensures that a common technology architecture framework is defined and adopted across the organisation. The Data Product Architecture (DPA) team are responsible for both shaping the longer-term direction of Data Architecture used by the easyJet business functions and playing an active role in ensuring that programmes & projects move us in that direction and assuring the delivery of good quality, fit-for-purpose solutions. The DPA team are expected to have a broad understanding of Conceptual and Logical Data structures across all the systems within specific business domains. This role is focussed on the cross-functional enterprise IT domains of Data Management, Data Analytics, Data Engineering and Data Integration. It is expected the successful candidate will have strong experience and competency in working with larger Project & Product teams & stakeholders, reviewing and shaping alignment of integration platform and data architecture to support cross-functional needs. Direct experience in these business domains is key to this role, as it is expected the successful candidate will quickly establish themselves as a recognised subject matter expert working across a range of business and IT delivery / technical stakeholders. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES To shape and manage future direction of easyJet’s Data Technology & Product architecture, with a primary focus on our enterprise-scope Data domains, by: • Engages primarily with Data Product Owners to assist in translating business requirements into clear, scalable data models and solutions, ensuring effective communication and alignment between technical capabilities and business needs., • Guide & support the realisation of the data product strategy for assigned business areas, collaborating with technical, analytical, and business teams., • Oversee architectural activities within Domains driving Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Analytics Architecture, • Supports the establishment of architectural standards for modelling, storing, and accessing data across the organisation, ensuring scalability, interoperability, and alignment with goals to support high-quality data products., • Assists in data ingestion, transformation, and storage designs across layers (e.g., bronze, silver, gold) of the self-service Data platform, maintaining scalability and alignment with organisational objectives., • Participates in federated data governance by ensuring compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory standards, promoting consistent and sustainable data practices across the organisation., • Acts as a liaison mainly between technical teams and Data Product Owners, facilitating communication and understanding to drive productive discussions on data strategy and model implementation., • Responsible for maintaining and governing logical and physical data models for Data and Analytical solutions by working closely with Data Engineering Technical leads and Data modellers, along with that responsibilities you should maintain consistency across the products., • Support the work in building data dictionaries, and data governance frameworks, by working closely with the Data governance Team. KEY SKILLS REQUIRED This role requires a combination of IT / product architecture, stakeholder management and leadership skills, and the ability to bridge and balance business and IT factors that influence the direction of easyJet’s IT architecture. Being an inspiring and engaging communicator is a key requirement of this role. The individual therefore should be able to or have: • Expertise in data & integration architecture including topics such as service-orientation, APIs, event-driven architectures, batch data integration, data lakes, ‘data mesh, data warehousing, data management etc., • Familiarity with patterns, practices, and frameworks of Enterprise Architecture., • Familiarity with AWS Cloud technologies and concepts like Lake House Architecture and Databricks., • Extensive Data modelling experience from conceptual to logical models. Taking long term ownership of the data models and analytical products built on top of them., • Extensive experience working with Data Modelling tools like Erwin data Modeller, ER Studio., • Expertise in governance and assurance for enterprise data (data models, resources, products etc.) and integration (e.g., interfaces, Events etc.), • Nice to have Knowledge of the legal and regulatory & DPO Compliancy environment within which easyJet operates., • Be a business-focussed, creative, innovative pragmatic and positive team player., • Experience operating with different IT delivery approaches such as agile, waterfall, iterative etc. What you’ll get in return: At easyJet, we pride ourselves on a vibrant and inclusive workplace culture that supports and rewards innovation and excellence.
