The school is seeking a confident, resilient, and patient individual who can build strong relationships, provide consistent support, and become a positive role model both inside and outside of the classroom.\n\nThis SEN Teaching Assistant role is ideal for candidates with experience supporting pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or behavioural needs who are passionate about helping children reach their full potential.\n\nThe RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work on a 1:1 basis, supporting a pupil throughout the school day. You will help them access learning, develop social and emotional skills, improve confidence, and engage positively within the classroom environment.\n\nWorking closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will implement personalised learning strategies while encouraging independence and positive behaviour.\n\nResponsibilities\nProvide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs.\nBuild a trusting and consistent relationship with your assigned pupil.\nAct as a positive role model through calm, patient, and encouraging support.\nSupport pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and associated behavioural needs.\nDeliver personalised interventions and follow EHCP targets.\nEncourage emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.\nSupport learning across EYFS, KS1, or KS2 as required.\nWork collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, parents, and external professionals.\nHelp pupils develop confidence, independence, communication, and social skills.About YouTo be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will have:\n\nA minimum of 1 year's experience supporting children within a school.\nExperience working with pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, or other Special Educational Needs.\nStrong behaviour management skills.\nThe ability to build positive relationships and act as a consistent role model.\nA calm, resilient, and proactive approach.\nExcellent communication and teamwork skills.\nAn Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.Candidates with experience in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, behaviour support, youth offending services, or alternative provisions are also encouraged to apply.\n\nThe SchoolThis welcoming primary school in Redbridge is committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
