Night Works Site Manager (Civil Engineering) • Pay Rate: £40–£60 per hour (Umbrella), • Location: On-site, near Trinity and St John’s – Cambridge Road Car Park Day-to-day of the role: • Manage site operations during night shifts, ensuring all activities are carried out safely and efficiently., • Act as the sole representative on-site overnight, making crucial operational decisions., • Liaise with contractors to monitor progress, site activities, and ensure compliance with NEC4 contract requirements., • Conduct end-of-shift handovers to the Lead Designer, providing updates, progress notes, and addressing any issues., • Oversee a second nearby scheme, ensuring all operations are running smoothly and safely., • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety standards, and proper use of PPE., • Proven background in civil engineering with significant experience in site supervision., • Experience managing night works or similar time-critical operations., • Strong understanding of NEC4 contracts and CDM Regulations., • Excellent ability to work independently and make safe, effective operational decisions., • Strong communication skills for effective handovers and contractor liaison., • Competitive hourly rate with potential flexibility depending on experience and qualifications., • Opportunity to manage critical infrastructure projects., • Approximately 40 weeks covering both schemes., • Immediate start required with construction commencement targeted for 23rd February., • Expected scheme completion by the end of September.

Construction Site Supervisor needed in Huddersfield The rate is £60ph This is a temporary role The reference number is: 000A CEA2 / 1 Soley to manage works on site, which are during the night Will be working 7pm - 6am on a scheme that crosses the ring road The scheme is civil engineering works - installing cycle lanes, widening footpaths, installing islands Liaising with contractors etc Will be on their own as its night work so understanding what actions need to be taken so that can re-open to traffic for the morning Be able to interact with the contractor, monitor process and site supervision activities and tasks Understand NEC4 contract At the end of the shift handover to the lead designer and to update them etc and communicate with them Also another scheme happening which is the next junction down on the ring road which some elements will need to be done in the night and to also monitor that work and scheme with a different contractor but the same principle to other scheme The schemes are only 300 meters apart from each other - can walk it or drive it They need to be able to work in their own way understand what is happening on either site and be there for the sites and flexible regarding being on sites 5 night - Monday - Friday Ideally still need to be on site fill time but play it by ear and activity is low risk or straight forward could do any notes or tasks from home before going down but there could be other critical tasks but they will know what they are and what this looks like and making sure can confirm the contract is being adhered to eg ppe being worn etc 40 weeks for the role for the 2 schemes - 3 weeks behind schedule, when the scheme is complete on site still elements of finishing up with the contactor End of September finishing Still needing someone ASAP and looking to start the construction 23rd Feb anting someone who has done this before due to the timeframes etc on the schemes Qualifications - good background in civil engineering - can be experience or qual NEC4 - understanding, applying this Be aware of CDM regs and what the roles and responsibilities are under this Usual Health and Safety If you are interested in the role please apply on our website with your CV, alternatively you can email your CV to quoting the reference number. Construction Site Supervisor (Night Shift) Huddersfield Full-Time 40 Hours per Week (MondayFriday, 7:00pm6:00am) Until end of September 2026 We are seeking an experienced Construction Site Supervisor to manage night-time civil engineering works across two live highway schemes on Huddersfield ring road. This is a full-time night shift role where you will be solely responsible for supervising works on site, ensuring activities are delivered safely, in line with NEC4 contract requirements, and that the highway is fully reopened to traffic each morning. Key Responsibilities: Supervising civil engineering works including cycle lanes, footpath widening and traffic islands Managing and liaising with contractors on site Monitoring progress and ensuring adherence to programme and contract requirements (NEC4) Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and CDM regulations Overseeing two nearby schemes (within walking distance of each other) Completing shift reports and providing detailed handovers to the Lead Designer Making independent decisions during night operations You will be working alone at night, so confidence, initiative and strong site management experience are essential. The role requires someone who has delivered similar schemes previously and can operate effectively within tight timeframes.
