Senior Scientist – In Vivo Pharmacology About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a discovery‑focused research team dedicated to advancing new therapies for immune‑mediated inflammatory diseases. As a Senior Scientist, you will bring strong scientific expertise and hands‑on in vivo experience to support early‑stage drug discovery programs across both small‑molecule and biologics modalities. This fixed‑term position is centred on high‑quality experimental execution, project delivery, and scientific rigor. Working closely with project teams and senior scientific leaders, you will design, run, and interpret in vivo studies that generate the data needed to drive timely decision‑making. Collaboration Environment You will report into the in vivo group lead and work within a supportive team of in vivo scientists. The role involves close partnership with project leads, cross‑functional discovery teams, and external collaborators such as CROs and academic partners to advance immunology‑focused research programs. Key Responsibilities • Design, plan, and execute in vivo studies supporting target identification, validation, and translational pharmacology., • Apply strong technical expertise in in vivo immunology models, ensuring robust model selection and scientific excellence., • Generate, analyse, and interpret high‑quality in vivo data aligned with project timelines., • Support the development, optimisation, and validation of in vivo models, including oversight of outsourced studies when required., • Contribute to project teams through critical data review and scientific insight., • Ensure all studies comply with regulatory, ethical, and animal welfare standards., • Collaborate effectively across scientific disciplines to support discovery and early development goals., • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to study summaries, reports, and presentations. About You • PhD (or equivalent) in Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field, with relevant postdoctoral or industry experience in drug discovery., • Holder of (or eligible to obtain) a Home Office Project Licence for in vivo research., • Strong hands‑on experience with in vivo pharmacology and immunology models relevant to inflammatory and immune‑mediated diseases., • Proven ability to design robust in vivo experiments and interpret complex datasets., • Experience with in vivo cell‑depletion models is advantageous., • Pragmatic, delivery‑focused mindset with a commitment to scientific rigor and data quality., • Able to work independently while contributing effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
