    Beckett House Montessori Full-time | Monday–Friday | Shift patterns: 8am–4pm or 10am–6pm starting 16th March. The Role We are seeking an engaging, observant and committed Nursery Practitioner who understands the importance of prepared environments, independence and good practice. You will work closely with your Room Leader and management team to deliver authentic Montessori practice within the EYFS framework, supporting each child’s individual development through careful observation, intervention and guidance. This role suits someone who is proud of their practice, values structure and consistency and wants to grow with a developing Montessori group. About Us Beckett House Montessori is a growing early years group with a well-loved nursery in Angel, Islington, known for its warm, home-from-home atmosphere and high-quality care. We are now opening a brand-new site at Abbey Road in April 2026. Our leadership team previously founded Mace Montessori, a successful 10-site Montessori group across London. As a Nursery Practitioner, you will be part of the founding team for this site, helping to establish practice, routines and culture from day one. Key Responsibilities Montessori Practice & Child Development • Deliver high-quality Montessori practice aligned with the Montessori philosophy and EYFS, • Support children’s independence, concentration and growth, • Present Montessori materials clearly and structurally, • Observe children and plan appropriate next steps dependant on the child’s growth, • Maintain accurate learning records based on observations for your key children, • Contribute to planning learning structure through the year Prepared Environment • Maintain a calm, orderly and purposeful Montessori environment, • Ensure materials are complete, clean and accessible, • Support consistent routines that promote creativity and independence, • Contribute to the daily flow of the classroom Safeguarding & Professional Standards • Uphold safeguarding, health & safety and welfare requirements at all times, • Follow nursery policies, procedures and professional expectations, • Accurately record observations, incidents and concerns, • Act as a positive role model for children and colleagues Parents & Teamwork • Build respectful, professional relationships with parents and carers, • Communicate clearly and appropriately as required, • Work collaboratively as part of a close, supportive team, • Contribute ideas and reflections to improve practice About the Abbey Road Setting Abbey Road is a stand-alone Montessori nursery with the space and flexibility to create a truly calm, home-from-home learning environment. As part of the opening team, you will: • Help establish classroom routines and expectations, • Shape the culture and standard of practice from the outset, • Work within a supportive structure led by experienced Montessori operators Requirements • Level 3 Early Years qualification or a Montessori qualification or Montessori training (preferred), • Experience working in a Montessori or child-led setting, • Strong understanding of EYFS and safeguarding, • Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain), • Calm, reliable and professional approach Key Attributes • Strong understanding of Montessori principles, • Observant, patient and reflective practitioner, • Organised and consistent in practice, • Team-oriented with a professional mindset, • Genuine passion for high-quality Montessori education What We Offer • £26,000 salary dependant on experience, • Opportunity to join a brand-new Montessori nursery, • Strong support from an experienced leadership team, • Ongoing training and professional development, • Career progression within a growing Montessori group, • Holiday entitlement + pension
