American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Job Description & Requirements • Specialty: ED - Emergency Department, • Discipline: RN, • Start Date: 05/18/2026, • Duration: 13 weeks, • 36 hours per week, • Shift: 12 hours, days, • Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview • Shift: Days, 3x12hrs, • Hours: 36 hrs/wk, • Start Date: May 18, 2026, • Length: 13 weeks, • Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, and academic teaching hospital with 554 staffed beds, • Approximately 60–80% of the ED census consists of admitted/boarding patients, with many rooms functioning as ED Holding, • Patient ratio of 1:5, • Day shift, 12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30), scheduled as 3x12 or 4x12 per week, • Weekends are required as needed; weekend days are Saturday and Sunday, weekend nights are Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, • No on-call requirements, • Floating to Adult PCUs is expected based on staffing needs; floating to Peds ED is optional; potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma based on experience, • Charting via Cerner, • Black scrubs required and are not provided by the facility, • No parking feeRequirements, • Active NM or Compact RN license required; NM license may be pending at time of submission, • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in an Emergency Department required; candidates with 1.5 years may be reviewed, • Level I Trauma experience strongly preferred, • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and NIH Stroke Scale — TNCC must be obtained prior to consideration; NIH certification may be pending until compliance due date, • RQI certifications are not accepted in place of required certifications, • COVID vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions accepted with a completed exemption form signed by a provider, • Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this positionAdditional Information, • Travelers should expect their assignment to include, and may consist primarily of, admitted/boarding patients due to currently elevated admit hold volumes, • Travel experience is strongly preferred; first-time travelers may be considered if they have 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience, • Medication administration responsibilities include IV medications following the seven rights of medication administration, with documentation and communication of clinical findings, • Block scheduling is not available, • Requested time off exceeding 7 days requires facility approval, • Travelers who have worked 4 consecutive assignments or reached a one-year mark with the facility are required to take a 6-month break before returning With thousands of travel nursing and allied jobs nationwide, our attentive and approachable recruiters find positions that align perfectly with your career aspirations and personal requirements.
