Job Description JOB SUMMARY The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records and supporting key compliance and operational initiatives within the finance department. This role involves managing complex accounting functions, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, and providing data for strategic decision-making. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS • Preparing Financial Statements by compiling and analyzing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy., • Maintain the integrity of the general ledger through the preparation and posting of complex journal entries and reviewing transactions., • Monitoring all financial operations to ensure strict adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and relevant federal and state laws and regulations., • Perform complex reconciliations of various accounts, such as bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and intercompany transactions, and resolve any discrepancies., • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, costs, and revenues, and explaining variances between actual and budgeted figures to management, • Assisting in the development, implementation, and analysis of annual budgets and ongoing financial forecasts., • This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of the required activities, duties, or responsibilities of the team member. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES • This position has no supervisory responsibilities. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS • In office environment, • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. PLANNED BUSINESS TRAVEL • This job requires no planned business travel. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • High School diploma or equivalent is required. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred., • Combined experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or administrative practices of 3 or more years with education is desirable., • Previous experience working as a staff accountant.
