Job DescriptionSalary: $38.5/hour Work with and supervise a program that supports adults with developmental disabilities! Duties & Responsibilities • Program Organization, • Responsible for the daily supervision of all Passage staff and participants., • Provide regular and timely feedback to Director of Programs regarding staff performance issues, participants performance issues, program recommendations, etc., • Participate in referrals of potential participants placements into program with Director of Programs., • Be familiar with Southside Unlimited policy manual and its implementation with staff and participants., • Coordinate daily program staffing to meet licensing requirements and individual participants needs., • Scheduling staff working hours, vacation requests, personal leave, etc. to match with participant needs., • Implement daily assignment of staff according to deployment scheme, which maximizes the program benefits for participants while capitalizing on staff talents and special skills., • Set up a system to insure timely management of all required paperwork., • Ensure purchase of service requests are kept up to date., • Supervisors will inform Director of Programs of any potential POS changes discussed in meetings., • At program and job sites, provide supplies and systems to ensure that participant needs are met., • Meet weekly with Director of Programs to give updates on program and staff development and quality assurance issues., • Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Programs., • Support and Training to Staff to Insure Professional Standards, • Provide training and technical assistance to AST staff in areas of participant skills assessment, task analysis, job development, self advocacy, Individual Service Plans, Person Centered Plans and behavior intervention techniques., • Train and assist ASTs in designing individualized participant schedules., • Assist and train ASTs to individual and group participant programs., • Be familiar with psychotropic drug reactions as they relate to participants performance and behaviors., • Provide support, help troubleshoot, and make recommendations regarding participant programs., • Intervenes, investigates, troubleshoots, and assists in the development strategies for participants experiencing crisis periods., • In conjunction with Director of Programs, participate in the process of interviewing and hiring program staff., • Timely complete staff performance appraisals to be reviewed by Director of Programs., • Manage ongoing staff meetings to promote team building and encourage staff participation., • Provide in-service training to ensure maximum growth for staff as they learn to better meet participant needs, i.e., in areas of behavior intervention, self-advocacy, job skills developments, etc., • Support and Training to Participants, • Substitute for AST staff when necessary., • Be able to perform all AST duties., • Transport participants., • Work effectively with and support participants during crisis periods., • Be familiar with the current talents, abilities, and program schedules of all participants who participate in the Passage Program., • Attend, and help to facilitate participant intake and service plan meetings., • Promote the development of participant self-esteem and problem-solving abilities by participating as a helper in the Self Advocacy group process., • Insure Professional Standards of Practice by Program Staff, • Provide daily supervision of AST staff., • In conjunction with Director of Programs, participate in the process of interviewing and hiring program staff., • With the Director of Programs complete staff performance appraisals annually, • Manage ongoing staff meetings to promote team building and encourage staff participation., • Participate with in-service training schedule to ensure maximum growth for staff as they learn to better meet participant needs, i.e., in areas of behavior intervention, self- advocacy, job skills developments, etc., • Provide physical assistance to participants as required to assist staff., • Intervene in participant crisis situations as required., • Quality Assurance, Evaluation, and Long-Range Planning, • Advise Director of Programs regarding ongoing communications with staff and participants regarding whether program objectives are being met., • Devise schedule to insure visible presence at job sites and at program sites., • Review participant charts, I.D. Notes, P.C.P. and I.S.P. processes to ensure that timely documentation occurs and that participant needs are being met., • In cooperation with Director of Programs, develop a yearly long-range plan to ensure that program continually meets participants needs., • Community Networking, • In cooperation with Director of Programs act as program liaison to Regional Center staff, residential program staff, other day program staff, participant advocacy groups, and the public at large., • Professional Training and Development, • Attend First Aid/CPR/AED classes and other Seminars as required by agency., • Attend professional training conferences as requested by Director of Programs (occasional required training activities may be scheduled during weekend time.), • Keep current on training that is available to enhance skills needed to perform the job and make timely training requests to Director of Programs., • Desired Personality Traits for Program Supervisor Applicants, • Familiarity with Developmental Services Field and a personal commitment to concepts of normalization, advocacy, supported work, integrated life, positive behavior management, and person-centered-planning., • Effective written and verbal communication skills., • Charismatic personality/ability to elicit staff respect., • Ability to be tactful and use good judgment when intervening in a variety of situations., • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated., • Ability to be organized, prioritize tasks, and respond to job duties in a timely manner., • Ability to be a creative problem-solver., • Demonstration of a good sense of humor., • Applicant Requirements, • A.A. degree (B.A. Preferred) in Behavioral Sciences or related field or 4-5 years of experience in field of developmental disabilities with two years of supervisory experience in a human services field required., • Previous job experience with behaviorally challenged individuals preferred., • Familiarity with the Interdisciplinary Team Process., • Possession of a valid drivers license, proof of insurance, and a clean DMV required., • Possession of a reliable car., • All applicants must be free from substance abuse.
