Job Description Job Title: Facilities Janitor Job Description The facilities janitor supports facility-wide cleaning and general labor activities across both indoor and outdoor areas. This role helps maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment on the manufacturing plant floor, in office spaces, and around the building grounds. You will perform housekeeping tasks, assist with basic facility maintenance, and ensure that all assigned areas meet cleanliness and safety standards while following required personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines. Responsibilities • Perform daily housekeeping duties across the manufacturing plant floor, office areas, breakrooms, bathrooms, and locker rooms to maintain a clean and safe environment., • Remove trash from designated areas, including production spaces, offices, and common areas, and properly dispose of waste in appropriate containers., • removing trash from around the outside of the building and grounds., • Sweep and mop floors in production areas, hallways, offices, and other assigned spaces to keep surfaces free of debris, dust, and spills., • Clean and sanitize bathrooms and locker rooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, and other fixtures, following established cleaning procedures., • Clean breakrooms, including wiping down tables, counters, and appliances, and ensuring these areas remain tidy and presentable., • Support general groundskeeping tasks outside the facility, such as trash pick-up, basic yard or grounds maintenance, and maintaining clean walkways and entrances., • Perform general labor duties such as window cleaning, pressure washing, and other basic cleaning or maintenance tasks as assigned., • Assist with basic facilities or building maintenance tasks within the scope of general labor responsibilities, under direction from supervisors., • Work both inside a production facility and outdoors, adapting to different work areas and tasks throughout the day., • Wear required PPE at all times, including steel-toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety vests, and follow all safety procedures., • Collaborate with team members and respond to direction to complete tasks efficiently and maintain a high standard of cleanliness., • Report any safety hazards, maintenance issues, or unusual conditions in work areas to the appropriate personnel. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of experience performing cleaning, janitorial, and general labor tasks., • A minimum of 6 months of facilities or building maintenance experience., • At least 6 months of experience performing general labor duties such as trash pick-up, window cleaning, pressure washing, and general groundskeeping., • Demonstrated ability to perform physical labor in both indoor and outdoor environments., • Comfort working in a manufacturing or industrial setting, including on a production facility floor., • Comfortable working both inside a production facility and outdoors in varying conditions., • Ability to follow safety procedures and consistently wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety vests., • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and reliability., • Basic understanding of facility maintenance, janitorial practices, and groundskeeping tasks., • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and maintain attention to detail in cleaning and general labor work. Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM Work Environment This role is based in an industrial and manufacturing facility that is currently at the end of the construction phase. Responsibilities will take place in production areas office spaces and grounds . You will work in a combination of indoor and outdoor environments, moving between the plant floor, office building, breakrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, and exterior grounds. The facility is brand new, and office and breakroom areas are air-conditioned, providing a comfortable setting for indoor cleaning tasks. PPE: You will regularly wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, and safety vests, to ensure safety in all work areas. The environment is active and production-focused, with an emphasis on cleanliness, safety, and teamwork. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $18.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
