Job Description AAIR is hiring full-time and part-time dependable LPNs to work with a respected, dedicated team of professionals in a thriving asthma and allergy multi-site, private practice. The LPN will provide clinical care and immunotherapy services to both pediatric and adult patients. Must have great organizational skills while offering excellent customer service. Previous immunotherapy experience preferred (we will train). Hours: Mondays and Thursdays, 8am-5pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays 8-6; all nurses work either Tuesday or Wednesday until 6pm; we are closed on Fridays, no weekends, on call or holidays. The primary responsibility of the LPN Nurse is to provide excellent, patient-centered, evidence-based, personalized comprehensive nursing care to meet the needs of the patient under the direction of the providers, within the scope of practice as set forth by the New York State Department of Education. An LPN Nurse must be able to prioritize, multi-task and accept responsibility for following protocols of practice set forth by the physician, while effectively managing their time. Flexibility and adaptability working on a team or in the injection department are essential to meet fluctuating demands. The LPN must be able to function as a team member of a multi-disciplinary patient care team. QUALIFICATIONS: • Required Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, • Required Licensure/Certifications: Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse license, BLS/CPR and valid NYS driver license, • Preferred Experience: 1-2 years of nursing experience, • Special Skills: Preferred experience in allergy, asthma, immunology, and immunotherapy, basic keyboarding and computer skills, ability to multi-task, • Physical Demands: Requires full range of body motion including handling of patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking a major portion of the day. May be required to lift 10 pounds. Requires normal (or corrected to normal) vision and hearing. May require travel to satellite offices. RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES: • Render professional nursing services in the treatment and care of patients in accordance with provider orders and the NYS Department of Health., • Work involves attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, and responsibility., • Documentation of patient’s history, capturing all vital signs, medications and other key indicators as needed. Utilizes universal precaution, • Ability to perform skin testing, Niox, PFT, medication, and injection administration., • Assist providers with procedure set up and completion 6. Administers immunotherapy as ordered following protocols set forth by the providers. Deviations outside of protocols require consultation with an RN and/or provider. • Assists providers with examination, immunotherapy reactions, treatment and documentation, as needed., • Represents the practice through appropriate and professional communications skills, while demonstrating concern for the patient and their right to excellent medical care., • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices., • Utilizes all aspects of electronic medical records including prescription refills.
