Duties & ResponsibilitiesClinical Interventions & Patient Care Treatment Administration: Administer tailored occupational therapy treatment programs and interventions as established by the supervising Occupational Therapist. Assessment Assistance: Partner with the Occupational Therapist to obtain patient vital signs, conduct range of motion testing, and perform manual muscle strength evaluations. Holistic Interventions: Deliver and document specialized interventions to promote muscle re-education, balance, endurance, perceptual-motor skills, and cognitive function. ADL & Device Training: Guide patients in utilizing specialized adaptive devices, techniques, and therapeutic activities designed to maximize their safe, everyday independence at the clinical center and at home. Operational & Team Coordination Unified Rehabilitation: Coordinate dynamically with other members of the rehabilitation team to implement seamless programs aligned with each patient's individual care plan. Administrative Operations: Manage patient treatment scheduling, track clinical visits, and oversee essential billing documentation within our data systems. Equipment Stewardship: Track, maintain, and ensure the continuous safety and calibration of all specialized therapeutic equipment. Care Plan Updates: Actively monitor patient progress and provide comprehensive condition updates to the broader clinical team to adapt care blueprints dynamically. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Education: Associate degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited, board-approved program (degrees earned outside the US must have a verified equivalent evaluation). Licensure: Valid, active California Occupational Therapy Assistant License (or verified proof of immediate license eligibility). Geriatric Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of professional COTA experience in a clinical setting working directly with a frail, elderly, or complex senior population. Clinical Knowledge: Deep therapeutic knowledge necessary to safely treat frail older adults with complex medical, physical, and psychosocial needs. Mobility: A reliable means of transportation to seamlessly support facility-based care and occasional community home visits. Location and Work Type Work Type: Full-Time, Permanent Work Setting: 100% On-site clinical facility care integrated with occasional local community home visits (dedicated office space is available on-location).
