Responsible for providing respiratory therapy care and life support to patients with cardiopulmonary system deficiencies and abnormalities, under supervision of physician. Principal Accountabilities: 1. Evaluates prescription, measures arterial blood gases, and checks patient information to assess patient condition and determine requirements for treatment, such as type and duration of therapy, and medication and dosages., 2. Renders aerosol medications and treatments to patients for inhalation, and positions patients to assist in breathing and prevent lung obstruction., 3. Determines most suitable method of administering inhalants, precautions to be observed, and modifications that may be needed, which will be compatible with physician's orders., 4. Sets up and operates devices, such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators to support respiration and maintain patient's oxygen supply., 5. Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment, such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients., 6. Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy, such as vital signs, arterial blood gases, and blood chemistry changes., 7. Performs chest physiotherapy on patient to remove mucus from their lungs and make it easier for them to breathe and assists patient in performing breathing exercises., 8. Assists in the performance of diagnostic testing by performing pulmonary function tests to be used by physician in diagnosis of case., 9. Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy., 10. Consults with physician in event of adverse reactions., 11. Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information. Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, and orders repairs when needed., 12. Provides patient education and support for patients suffering from chronic lung disease., 13. Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel., 14. May care for premature infants with underdeveloped pulmonary systems, the elderly who have increased susceptibility to pulmonary and cardiac disease, and trauma patients., 15. Other related duties as assigned Education: • Associate of Science degree from an accredited respiratory therapist program, required., • 1 years of Respiratory Care experience preferred., • Critical care experience, highly preferred., • Previous experience with PFT studies and cardiopulmonary testing, highly preferred., • Active license for Respiratory Therapy in New Jersey, required. About the Role Charlie Health is looking for a dynamic individual to serve as Clinical Intake Therapist. The Clinical Intake Therapist will be responsible for meeting with clients upon admission, building rapport, completing biopsychosocial assessments, and establishing treatment needs. Responsibilities • Looking to cover the following shifts to meet the schedules and needs of our clients:, • Mornings and Afternoons - Must be available 10:30am - 6:30pm ET or 12:30pm - 8:30pm ET, • Afternoons and Evenings - Must be available 1 - 9pm ET or 3 - 11 pm ET, • Weekends encouraged, • Will consider alternative availability on individual basis, • Demonstrate personable and competent communication skills to develop rapport with clients and referral sources, • Present programming information in a thorough and supportive manner to help clients gain access to care, • Complete virtual biopsychosocial assessments for a wide range of ages, including children, teens, young adults, and adults with various mental health concerns, • Determine appropriateness and fit for virtual intensive outpatient program (IOP) level of care, • Construct provisional mental health diagnoses utilizing DSM-V criteria, • Document client information in accordance with regulatory standards using electronic medical record, • Assign treatment team members and group schedules while informing staff of new admissions, • Interface with Admissions, Verification of Benefits, Utilization Review, and Clinical teams in facilitating intake, • Collaborate with referral sources: hospitals, treatment centers, psychiatrists, therapists, and other behavioral health providers upon admission, • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environment while maintaining high attention to detail and quality of careRequirements, • An independent license is preferred, but we're happy to work with associate-level clinicians who are eager to grow and work toward full licensure., • Licenses accepted: LICSW, LCMHC, LMFT, MSW Degree, • Experience working with a wide range of ages, including children, teens, young adults, and adults preferred, • Experience completing behavioral health assessments and admissions preferred, • Work authorized in the United States and native or bilingual English proficiency, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills Additional Information Note to Colorado applicants: applications will be accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis The expected base pay for this role will be between $55,000 and $67,500 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience.
