Required qualifications include: • High School diploma or GED, • Associates Degree in HVACR, Refrigeration/Electrical, RETAA or CIRO certificates, Trade School Certification, or equivalent is strongly preferred, • Experience with multi-stage ammonia compression systems., • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical control systems (such as GEA or Frick controls)., • Knowledge of liquid recirculation systems., • Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)., • Experience with screw compressors, evaporative condensers, and room cooling evaporators., • Understanding of IIAR ammonia refrigeration safety standards., • Experience with boiler operations and inspections., • Skills in facility plumbing and pipefitting., • Maintenance experience with air compressors, air dryers, rapid roll-up doors, and dock doors/levelers., • Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and Hazard Communication (HazCom) requirements., • Ability to understand and explain the physics of the refrigeration cycle.
