Trustpoint is excited to partner with a national boutique law firm in its search for a Senior Manager of Billing & Collections on a direct hire basis. This role is a key member of the firm’s finance and accounting team and focuses on innovative fee arrangements, improving billing and collections processes, and overseeing the firm’s billing and collections function. This individual will work closely with firm leadership, attorneys, and cross-functional teams to deliver strategic, solution-oriented approaches to complex billing and revenue cycle matters. Successful candidate will have hands-on experience leading a billing team in a law firm envrionment. Responsibilities • Oversee all firmwide billing activities, including standard billing, alternative fee arrangements, and LEDES/e-billing, • Manage unbilled time and uncollected invoices and escalate unresolved items to firm leadership as needed, • Oversee and lead the billing and collections team, • Provide guidance and support to attorneys, billing managers, and billing coordinators on creative approaches to budgeting and client matters, • Drive consistency and standardization across billing and collections practices while accommodating client-specific requirements, • Monitor industry trends related to billing, collections, and the broader revenue cycle, • Create, forecast, update, and maintain billing and collections reports aligned with firm goals, • Oversee firmwide collections strategy and execution, • Train attorneys and staff on billing needs, process updates, and changes, • Coordinate activities with other members of the finance and accounting team, • Review and manage client billing, collections, and data requests related to assigned matters, • Oversee billing and collections technology and implement automated processes to enhance efficiency and partner and client ROI, • Assist with system upgrades and other technology-based initiatives, as needed Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (required), • Extensive experience in financial management, billing, and collections, • Prior law firm experience (required), • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, • Strong analytical skills with experience using financial management tools, • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with other job-specific systems, • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment, • Ability to perform well under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and maintain strong relationships with leadership and peers This role is open to candidates based in New York City and will require travel to the CT office approximately once a month.
