Summary of Primary Functions Under limited supervision, will be responsible for achieving the strategic goals and initiatives of the Training department. Under the direction of the Director, Talent Development, plans, implements, and administers the Credit Union’s employee education, orientation, and training programs to ensure the ongoing development of employees. Conducts research to assess the Credit Union’s training and development needs. Designs and develops material for training and development programs, utilizing multiple training modalities. Administers programs by personally conducting training activities, authoring eLearning via Articulate Storyline, and leading others in the department to successful training delivery. Takes full ownership over assigned projects to the department, and partners with Department Leaders to support their efforts in completing their assigned projects. Responsible for the ongoing development and facilitation of training programs for new and current employees and other ongoing projects that may be identified and assigned. Supports compliance, auditing, and performance reporting functions of the department. Acts as a subject matter expert to provide real-time support to other Credit Union departments and functions as needed. Travel may be required, up to 20% of the time. Skills and Abilities • Bachelor’s Degree required, or High School Diploma and equivalent work experience within Learning and Development may be considered., • Instructional Design or e-Learning Development Certification, Technical Writing, Web Design, and Development, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and 5+ years of work experience is highly desired., • Minimum of 7 years of financial institution experience, with 1 of which being in a lead-level (or equivalent) position or higher preferred., • Change Management and/or Project Management certification is highly desired., • Demonstrated success in developing, conducting, and assessing training programs, virtual, eLearning, and instructor-led., • Excellent knowledge of Adult Learning Theories such as A.D.D.I.E and Instructional Design models., • Creates standard and custom training programs in multiple modalities, including traditional instructor-led courses, virtual (webinar) courses (synchronous and asynchronous distance learning), manuals, handbooks, forms, tools, learning activities, handouts, evaluation forms, visual aids, and reinforcement tools and self-paced course materials, multi-media e-learning courses, and training programs that support end-user programs., • Knowledge of financial functions, including Teller, MSR functions, new accounts, member service, loan products, and credit union systems and programs. DNA Knowledge is a plus., • Solid knowledge of course development software (Articulate preferred) and Learning Management Systems., • Working knowledge and expert level of competency in using Microsoft Office Suite programs. This includes creating, modifying, and formatting the following:, • documents conforming to standard business formatting and etiquette., • multiple worksheet databases with sort/filter functions, and mathematical, logical, statistical, and financial functions and formulas., • interactive presentations requiring custom design with notes, graphics, tables, and learner engagement activities., • Excellent oral/written communication skills for effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts., • Excellent organizational skills and project management skills to take Training from Needs Analysis to Facilitation and then Evaluation., • High level of self-motivation and ability to effectively prioritize time and responsibilities., • Knowledge of Federal and State regulations associated with Credit Union/Banking Services., • Ability to travel locally and non-locally, up to 20% of time (subject to change), with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation available for use in accomplishing job requirements. Duties and Responsibilities • Collaborates with the department leadership to plan, design, and deliver materials and resources for established training and development initiatives., • Creates a positive learning environment by incorporating a variety of learning methodologies, which align solutions with course objectives and learner needs. Assesses learner understanding of the material by conducting assessments and follow-ups., • Designs, facilitates, and supports new hire orientation and system/processes/product knowledge training., • Provides exercises and activities to enhance the learning process and experience., • Collaborates with all levels of credit union personnel as needed to gain knowledge of work areas and topics requiring training and development, and produces deliverables in response to those needs and objectives., • Designs, develops, and delivers training and development efforts via various delivery channels, including but not limited to in-person, conference calls, virtual, self-paced, and eLearning., • Responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating training materials, visual aids, handouts, exercises, evaluations, and tests., • Solicits feedback to measure progress and evaluate the effectiveness of training., • Assists with the execution of the ongoing procedures project, ensuring that procedures are assigned, reviewed as scheduled, updated, and communicated to all branch personnel., • Assists with ensuring forms and credit union resources are reviewed as scheduled and are updated appropriately. Ensure updates are communicated to all credit union personnel and replacement materials are provided as needed., • Works with direct Leader and Department Leaders to coordinate and schedule employees for onsite and offsite training workshops., • Takes full ownership over high-level projects assigned to the department, meeting all deadlines and keeping the Training Manager apprised of progress., • Maintains records, monitors, and reports the progress of employees under guidance during training and development periods., • Serves as a backup for other employees within the Training, Human Resources, and Branch Support Departments., • Maintains in-depth, expert-level knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, systems, products, and services, to primarily support branches and other credit union departments as a subject matter expert for real-time support needs., • Supports the compliance, auditing, and performance reporting duties of the department as directed., • Performs administrative duties such as database management, scheduling, filing, and maintaining records, providing reports, updating the employee portal site, and data entry., • Supports a flexible and variable work schedule, ultimately ensuring that all department needs are met, and performance expectations are satisfied., • Other related duties as assigned. Compensation and Job Title is commensurate with experience and may fall under the following pay ranges: Senior Training & Instructional Design Specialist- $85,983 to $128,974 Annually Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
