Job Description Location: Downtown Los Angeles, CA- Skid Row Area Site: Behavioral Health and Wellness Center, Crocker Position Purpose: The Program Director will be responsible for leading the development and day-to-day operations of the new Wesley Behavioral Health and Wellness Center located in Skid Row. This center offers a variety of services specifically designed to support individuals who are unhoused or experiencing housing instability. The Director will oversee the delivery of low-barrier services on the first floor, which will include spaces dedicated to the Day Habilitation and Psychosocial Rehabilitation programs. These services will be facilitated by a multidisciplinary team that includes certified substance use counselors, LCSWs/LMFTs, psychiatrists, case managers, housing navigators, certified peer counselors, and other professionals. This position combines administrative leadership with clinical oversight to ensure high-quality service delivery, regulatory compliance, and ongoing staff development. The Director will also be responsible for designing and implementing low-barrier programming that allows clients to access drop-in social activities, as well as individual and group outpatient treatment services as outlined below. Principal Responsibilities: ⢠Develop policies and procedures for all programs and services., ⢠Interview, hire and orient all staff and provide ongoing opportunities for training and professional growth., ⢠Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical programs and services to meet the needs of clients and the community. This services may include but are not limited to:, ⢠Cognitive stimulation activities, socialize with others and games,, ⢠Phone charging stations, clothing, laundry services,, ⢠Provide supportive care and linkages to services including transportation, medication management, health education, case management, mental health and substance use services,, ⢠Ensuring patients make all appointments as well as reducing other barriers to care., ⢠Classes and 1:1 counseling and education will be provided which may include but are not limited to:, ⢠Job interview skills, job assistance and employment support, ⢠Music therapy,, ⢠Stress reduction classes, self-care, wellness and healthy eating,, ⢠Housing Support, ⢠Independent living skills, ⢠Personal & social skill development, ⢠Financial Management skills including advocacy for General Relief and SSI, ⢠Horticulture therapy in an outside, covered patio and garden area,, ⢠Recidivism prevention,, ⢠Out-patient substance use classes,, ⢠Other low-barrier programs for clients to drop in for social activities,, ⢠Other individual and group outpatient treatment and intensive outpatient treatment., ⢠Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team to ensure that the programâs clinical treatment goals and productivity goals are met, ⢠Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including HIPAA, and agency policies and procedures., ⢠Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback and support for the professional development of staff., ⢠Coordinate with other departments and community partners to improve service delivery and outcomes., ⢠Review and approve clinical documentation to ensure adherence to quality and regulatory standards., ⢠Manage budgets and resources, ensuring effective and efficient use of funds., ⢠Represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and community events., ⢠Foster a positive and collaborative work environment for all team members., ⢠Address client and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner., ⢠Stay current with best practices, evidence-based therapies, and regulatory changes., ⢠Provide programmatic leadership to the team, including ensuring individual and team productivity targets are achieved so as to maximize client access to care., ⢠Be available as assigned to provide after-hour emergency psychiatric assistance, ⢠Participate in behavioral health quality assurance/improvement activities to maintain and strengthen standards of care, in accordance with the organization CQI Plan, in accordance with program requirements, ⢠Other duties as assignedRequirements:, ⢠Current CA license in Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Registered or Licensed Clinical Psychologist PsyD or PhD required., ⢠Masterâs degree in social work, social welfare, psychology, marriage, family and child counseling, and or marriage and family therapy from an accredited college or university., ⢠A minimum of 5 years of experience in behavioral/mental health care, with at least 2 years in a leadership or managerial role., ⢠Experience /knowledge in human, social, and/or behavioral health services, especially for homeless and/or low-income underserved individuals, ⢠Experience and knowledge with evidence-based interventions including motivational interviewing, harm-reduction model, trauma informed care and cognitive behavioral therapy for relapse prevention., ⢠Strong understanding of California state regulations, mental health policies, and evidence-based practices, ⢠Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical management systems., ⢠Exceptional organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
