POSITION SUMMARY Borden Dairy is seeking a skilled, detail-oriented, and safety-focused Fleet Mechanic II to join our team. This role is responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical transportation equipment, ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES • Conduct comprehensive preventive maintenance inspections and services on all fleet equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company standards., • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical systems including electrical, drivetrain, air and brake systems, suspension, and tires., • Maintain fleet tires and ensure all equipment meets performance and safety standards., • Identify and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency., • Adhere to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)., • High school diploma or GED strongly preferred., • Completion of a one-year technical program or a minimum of three years of relevant experience in transportation equipment maintenance and repair, or an equivalent combination of education and experience., • Experience with transport refrigeration systems is preferred., • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a systematic approach to troubleshooting., • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English; capable of performing basic mathematical calculations and accurately recording data. Bilingual skills are beneficial., • Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and various shifts as required., • Must possess or obtain a Class A or B CDL permit within six (6) months of hire., • Must obtain a valid CDL-A or B and Medical Examiner’s Certificate per FMCSA Part 391.41 after operating company vehicles., • Must obtain the following within three (3) months of hire:, • EPA Section 608 Type II and Section 609 MVAC certifications, • FMCSA Brake Inspector Certification (Part 396.25), • FMCSA Annual Inspector Certification (Part 396.19), • Must be able to frequently stand, walk, kneel, reach, climb, pull, and bend with full range of body motion., • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., and occasionally lift/move items exceeding 100 lbs.
