Job DescriptionSalary: $23 - $25 About the Opportunity HireQuest NW is seeking an Assistant Carpenter/ Detailer to support our client, a residential homebuilder, with ongoing construction and finish work. This position supports residential projects and is ideal for an mid-level carpenter/detailer/drywaller with strong attention to detail and a focus on finish quality. This is an ongoing, part-time role with the potential to become temp-to-hire for the right team member. Skilled experience is required. Candidates must be dependable, safety-minded, and comfortable working in an active residential construction environment. Responsibilities • Perform carpentry work including framing, trim, finish work, and general construction tasks, • Install, repair, and finish drywall, including hanging, taping, mudding, sanding, and texturing, • Complete detailed finish and punch-list work to meet quality and project specifications, • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders, • Measure, cut, and install materials accurately and efficiently, • Repair damaged walls, ceilings, doors, trim, and other interior structures, • Prepare surfaces for painting, finishing, or final inspection, • Ensure work meets safety standards, building codes, and customer expectations, • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times, • Communicate effectively with site supervisors, contractors, and team members, • Identify issues or material needs and report them promptly to the site lead, • Use hand and power tools safely and properly Requirements • High school diploma or GED, • Proven experience in carpentry, drywall, and detail/finish work, • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more regularly, • Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift, • Strong teamwork, accountability, and communication skills, • Must provide a resume for consideration, • Reliability and punctuality are critical, • Telehandler and fall protection / harness certification a plus Working Conditions • Work is performed at residential construction or job site locations, • Exposure to dust, noise, varying temperatures, and outdoor weather conditions depending on project, • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting throughout the workday, • Must be able to lift and carry materials and equipment up to 50 lbs.
