Job DescriptionJob Title: Assembly Technician Job Description The Assembly Technician performs assembly and initial testing of new products and sub-assemblies quickly and accurately while maintaining exemplary quality standards. This role assembles and tests electronic and electro-mechanical equipment using established methods, schematics, and procedures, and applies a thorough knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles. The technician works with a wide range of tools and systems, communicates effectively across departments, and contributes to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities • Perform assembly and initial testing of new products and sub-assemblies as efficiently as possible while maintaining high quality standards., • Assemble and test products following established methods, schematics, technical drawings, and procedures., • Assemble electronic and electro-mechanical equipment, including soldering components and programming electronic devices as required., • Use hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment, to complete small-part electro-mechanical assemblies., • Apply a thorough knowledge of electrical, electronic, and mechanical principles to diagnose and resolve assembly issues., • Proficiently use a personal computer, including Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, to perform job-related tasks and documentation., • Effectively communicate product and departmental issues with assembly personnel, department leads, manufacturing leadership, and other stakeholders., • Collaborate with other technicians to share methods, best practices, and process improvements., • Communicate with production planning personnel regarding work in process, answering questions and explaining problems, solutions, and expected completion times., • Proactively engage with other individuals and departments to address assembly-related issues and ensure workflow continuity., • Inform appropriate management and technicians of potential product problems and recommend corrective actions., • Maintain required performance and maintenance records for designated equipment in accordance with company standards., • Report product and process improvement suggestions to manufacturing engineering to support continuous improvement initiatives., • Ensure adherence to personal safety protocols and electrostatic discharge (ESD) prevention procedures for yourself and anyone working in or visiting the assembly shop., • Perform a variety of complex assembly tasks with limited supervision, relying on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals., • Work both independently and as part of a team to meet production schedules and quality expectations., • Handle multiple responsibilities and tasks, adjusting to changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment., • Maintain a high level of integrity and confidentiality, including safeguarding confidential product information and trade secrets.Essential Skills, • Two-year technical degree, accredited apprenticeship program, or equivalent additional experience in a technical field., • Three years of proven experience in electronics and/or electro-mechanical fields., • Hands-on experience with small-part electro-mechanical assembly., • Proficiency in soldering, including work with electronic components and assemblies., • Experience with epoxy application in assembly processes., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and wiring diagrams., • Experience with PCB programming or strong aptitude to learn PCB programming., • Ability to perform electrical, electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical assembly tasks., • Comfort using hand and power tools in a manufacturing environment., • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite., • Effective written and oral communication skills for cross-functional collaboration., • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple tasks., • Capability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team., • High sense of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of product and trade secret information., • Familiarity with safety and ESD prevention protocols in an assembly environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic components and equipment, including the use of special diagnostic instruments, is preferred., • Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement experience is preferred., • Equipment maintenance experience is preferred., • Experience in continuous improvement or process optimization initiatives is beneficial., • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to suggest corrective actions for product and process issues., • Self-directed, hands-on aptitude with a strong mechanical and technical mindset.Why Work Here?
