Job Description Lead Automotive Technician ABOUT US: • Drive Automotive Services operates 40 + full-service auto repair locations in 5 states. Our brands are Service Street, Pride Auto Care, Kerry’s Car Care, Aloha Auto Care, Elite Auto Care, Pioneer Automotive, Cinco and Fulshear Tire & Auto. Our locations specialize in top-of-the-line automotive repair and maintenance for all makes and models. Our company is looking for a qualified Automotive Technician with experience., • The Automotive Technician supports the organization by diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. They perform a variety of tasks, including diagnosing vehicles issues, completing repairs and carrying out routine maintenance procedures. This ensures vehicles are safe, reliable, and in good working conditions. Technicians communicate needs for parts and provide status of repair orders to the management team when requested. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: • Identifies mechanical problems, either visually or with computer diagnostic equipment., • Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined., • Perform routine and preventive maintenance, including oil changes and tune-ups., • Repairs or replaces malfunctioning parts and systems, such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts., • Perform further tests, which may include test driving the vehicle, to ensure repairs are completed correctly., • Examine critical parts and systems using a standard checklist., • Plan and establish timetable to complete repairs and maintenance., • Provide timely communication with management and team members regarding status and applicable needs., • Record and report any damage to company or customer property immediately., • Maintains a clean and organized shop environment, ensuring the area is free from clutter and debris., • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair., • Excellent mechanical repair skills., • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills., • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues., • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software., • Ability to read and comprehend service, work orders, and repair manuals., • Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion., • Must have the ability to perform work in a safe manner and adhere to safety policies., • Must have initiative and the ability to work in a team-environment or independently., • High school diploma or equivalent required., • Master technician certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence when appliable., • One to five years of related experience highly desired., • Some training or certification is automotive repair is often required., • Customers, • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present., • Ability to regularly lift 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds., • Must be able to inspect vehicles to determine repairs needed., • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections., • Use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) when applicable., • Personal tools are required to complete matching skills and duties of technician level.
