Vice President, Global Facilities Position Overview The Vice President, Global Facilities is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing all company‑owned and leased warehouse and testing facilities across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. You will ensure that all global sites operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with corporate objectives, delivering world‑class facility performance that supports business growth, operational excellence, and compliance with local regulations. Key Responsibilities Global Facilities Strategy & Leadership • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive facilities strategy that supports Smith’s long-term institutional vision including growth, capacity planning, and operational efficiency., • Make data driven recommendations for space planning, renovation, leasing, acquisition, and disposition to ensure Smith maintains the right mix of high performing assets., • Serve as a key leader during critical events (e.g., hurricanes, freezing weather, electrical outages), guiding Smith’s Facilities emergency response and ensuring preparedness for future scenarios., • Lead all aspects of facility operations, including warehouse management, testing center operations, asset management, safety, maintenance, engineering, and security., • Long-term capital reinvestment planning and risk avoidance, • Responsible for success of regulatory programs. When deficiencies are found must have the ability to create an actionable plan and work with Regional leaders to implement effectively., • Build and manage a high‑performing international facilities team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence., • Continuous evaluation of all vendors including MRO service providers, engineering consultants, contractors, etc. to ensure contract and design guideline standards are met. If expectations are not met provide strategies for performance improvement. Operations & Maintenance • Oversee day‑to‑day operations for facilities in Houston, Amsterdam, Hong Kong, and Singapore, ensuring compliance with global and local standards., • Coordinate with landlords and partners in leased facilities to ensure reliable utilities and timely maintenance., • Establish and optimize preventative maintenance programs, equipment lifecycle planning, and vendor management., • Ensure efficient material flow, warehouse layout optimization, and safety processes across all global sites., • Ensure implementation and ongoing improvement of access control systems, including badging, visitor management, card readers, biometric authentication where applicable, and controlled access to restricted testing zones., • Lead the Facilities administrative team including all HR responsibilities such as hiring, performance management, and corrective action. Determine and develop standardized facility management staffing models and create appropriate training and evaluation tools for those positions, • Responsible for preparing facilities management key performance indicator goals for each facility. When key performance indicator goals are not met, provide plans for improvement and/or allocation of capital as needed and track operational effectiveness of the instituted improvement or capital investment. Health, Safety, Security & Environmental Compliance • Ensure all facilities meet or exceed environmental, health, safety, and security requirements in each region., • Collaborate with Finance, Risk Management, and Accounting on insurance, FEMA claims, and operational risk mitigation. Capital Projects & Budget Management • Provide executive oversight of all capital projects from concept and scope development through design, budgeting, construction, and closeout., • Ensure all projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and aligned to institutional standards and compliance requirements., • Lead global real estate planning, facility expansion projects, renovations, and capital improvement initiatives., • Manage multimillion‑dollar budgets across regional facilities, ensuring cost effectiveness and financial stewardship., • Direct facility‑related vendor sourcing, negotiation, and performance management. Cross‑Functional Collaboration • Partner with Security, IT, Finance, Purchasing, Sales and HR to ensure facility operations support company‑wide objectives., • Support business continuity planning, emergency preparedness, and risk mitigation across all global locations., • Represent the Facilities function in executive meetings, board presentations, and strategic planning sessions. Qualifications Required • 15+ years of progressively responsible experience in facilities management, • Experience overseeing warehouses, testing facilities, or technical/industrial environments., • Proven leadership of multi‑site operations across the Americas, APAC and EMEA, • Strong understanding of global EH&S regulations, ISO standards, CTPAT, TAPA and industry best practices., • Demonstrated success managing large budgets, capital projects, and cross‑functional initiatives., • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and change‑management skills. Preferred • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Operations, or related field; MBA or advanced degree a plus., • Understanding of ANSI/ESD, CCAP-101, AS6081, AS9120, DLA QSLD and QTSL., • Lean, Six Sigma, or similar continuous improvement certification.
