Job Summary: Relocation Assistance Available Provide direct support to dentists, hygienists, denturists and other provider personnel in the delivery of dental care and service within a Kaiser Permanente dental office. Essential Responsibilities: • Performs all of the duties permitted a dental assistant consistent with the individuals training and in the presence of or under the observation of a licensed provider as referenced in State Dental Practice Act and the related Administrative Rules. These duties to include: Apply topical anesthetic and desensitizing agents, as directed by the provider. Removal of sutures and post-extraction and periodontal dressings. Retract a patients cheek, tongue, or other tissue during an operation. Assist in the placement or removal of a rubber dam. Remove debris created during operative procedures with a vacuum device, compressed air, mouth washes, or water. Extra-oral procedures which are not hazardous, Inspect the oral cavity using a mirror. Dry root canals with paper points. Place temporary filling material into the endodontic access. Take impressions for periodontal night guard. Polish the coronal surfaces of teeth when a dentist or hygienist has determined teeth are free of calculus. Train persons (patients) in techniques of oral hygiene and prevention of oral disease. Place films (dental radiographs), adjust equipment preparatory to exposing films, and expose films., • In support of the practice of a dentist provider who is not an orthodontist; Preliminary select and size bands. Remove fixed orthodontic appliances. Check for loose bands and brackets. Remove ligature ties and head appliances. Place and remove arch wires, elastics and orthodontic separators. Take intra-oral measurements for orthodontic procedures. Remove supra-gingival orthodontic bracket bonding material with a hand piece that does not exceed 25,000 revolutions per minute. Place ligature ties and head appliances. Train persons (patients) in techniques of oral hygiene and prevention of oral disease. Place films (dental radiographs), adjust equipment preparatory to exposing films, and expose films. Organize patients dental record consistent with established guidelines, confirm its availability and assure that it is in order and ready for providers use at the time care and service is to be provided. Greet, introduce self to, and inform patient of general treatment to be provided and provider to be seen consistent with established Kaiser Permanente Behavioral Guidelines. Review health questionnaire with patient and notify provider of reported conditions that could effect treatment. Promote patients emotional comfort by gaining rapport, instilling confidence and promoting tranquility. Inform and answer patients and/or parents questions regarding care and service provided as directed by provider., • Anticipate needs of provider in the delivery of patient care and service. Communicate information important to maintaining the proper scheduling and flow of patients consistent with information recorded in the patients dental record. Prepare, organize, arrange and pass dental instruments, supplies and materials as requested by the provider and required by established guidelines. Establish and maintain a clear and clean operating field. Record and verify information in the patients dental record according to established procedures. Record and/or verify all patient care and service related information on all necessary forms and documents consistent with established guidelines and in a manner that accurately reflects the information documented in the patients dental record. As required in support of direct patient care activities, enter, retrieve and transmit patient care and service related information via the Programs automated patient and provider scheduling system (TEAM), consistent with established guidelines and training. Respond to medical emergency situations consistent with established guidelines. Expose and process dental radiographs as required consistent with established guidelines and radiology equipment use specifications. Take patients blood pressure and accurately record in patients dental record. Clean and sterile and process instruments consistent with established guidelines. Maintain clean, orderly, well organized and supplied work environment, including assigned operatory, laboratory and instrument processing areas, consistent with established infection control. Assure proper handling of all materials in accordance with hazard communication program and infection control guidelines. This role is a highly visible role, and involves partnership with planning staff, production coordinators, manufacturing engineers, purchasing and inventory teams to align production output with business goals. The Master Production Scheduler must be able to facilitate interdepartmental projects, lead coordinate efforts and keep track of materials in a fast paced production environment. The scheduling of manufacturing labor, machinery and materials affect our ability to facilitate best-in-class customer experiences. The Master Production Scheduler needs to consider labor efficiency, material readiness, customer delivery performance, layers in the bill of materials, and cycle times for production cells in order to optimize production activities in an environment that oftentimes can include adversarial metrics. The Master Production Scheduler also is responsible for creating non-standard work orders for the transformation of materials, for rework or repair of assemblies. This effort may involve quality staff, engineering support and other internal staff as needed. The Mater Production Scheduling reports to the Director of Planning & Supply Chain and should require minimal supervision. It may also include:, • Telehealth comprehensive and acute visits with patient and caregivers, • Annual visits to monitor implementation of dementia care plans, • Facilitation of appointments with consultants when the treatment plan needs to be reassessed (e.g., new behavioral complications), • Provide dementia education and management skills to caregivers, • Take urgent calls during daytime hours, on call rotation, manage or triage problems, and communicate with community primary care physicians, • Order and interpret appropriate lab and diagnostic testing and adjust treatment plans accordingly, • The DCNP collaborates with Synapticure’s nerulogists/ dementia specialist, interdisciplinary care team and community PCPs to provide excellent dementia care to patients and caregivers, • Maintains appropriate and compliant documentation within our EMR (electronic medical record), • Collaborates with local and regional operations and clinical leadership to achieve goals, • Supports strategic initiatives regarding the GUIDE program, • Provides an excellent customer experience to foster high customer satisfaction/retention, • Practices ethically and in accordance with the Scope and Standards of Practice of their profession and Board Certification, • Follows all state and federal regulations, guidelines, and laws, • Masters of Science in Nursing, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or NP Certificate Program Graduate, • Current Nurse Practitioner credentialing body certificate, • Active, unrestricted APRN licensure, • 2 years of experience as APRN in primary care, internal medicine, geriatric care, neurology or equivalent, • Working knowledge of Geriatrics and care of Geriatric/Neurology patients, • Ability to take medical histories, perform examinations, assessments and implement appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic plans using medical practice in collaboration with supervising neurologist, • Timely documentation, • Managing a busy clinical schedule while minimizing patient wait times, • Comfort with multiple communication and documentation platforms (EMR, slack, email, etc), • Ability to assess psychosocial needs of patient/family/conservator/caregiver in a culturally diverse environment, • Knowledge of assessment and treatment of dementia, including psychological, behavioral, and medical aspects, • Excellent verbal and written communications, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a diverse team, • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-based, collaborative environment; able to prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner, • Attend weekly debriefing sessions with the clinical team to review cases and discuss issues, problem solving strategies, resource needs, and communication techniques, • Use integrated workflow management technology for care delivery and data collection, • Ability to establish cooperative working relationships with patients, teammates, and health care and community service providers, • Experience as an APRN in a gerontology and/or dementia care setting, • Clinical research experience in AD/ADRD and knowledge of current research landscape related to dementia care and treatment, • Bilingual, with verbal and written fluency in Spanish to support a diverse population of patients and caregiversWe’re founded by a patient and caregiver, and we’re a remote-first company.
