This position works in the warehouse keeping it clean, organized, and operating efficiently. This position helps manage logistics and fleet operations, with the occasional driving of box trucks to move equipment. Yes we are "in the music business", but this position will not have you working events. Instead, you will be making sure logistics are operating smoothly. This is not an entry level position for an AVL tech looking to move up. We are looking for the right candidate who's long term plan is to work the behind the scenes logistics of our company. Compensation: • Full Time 32 hrs per week October-March & 40+ hrs per week April-September, • Compensation commensurate with experience in the range of $25/hr - $35/hr, • $800/month medical stipend (this is taxable income, but set apart for you to purchase medical coverage) Title: Warehouse Assistant Manager / Production Assistant Reports To: VP of Production Warehouse Duties: • Maintain, and refine equipment inventory software (Rentman) including conducting equipment inventory each year, adding and removing equipment as appropriate, organizing equipment in the system., • Unload trucks and put away gear (Lead/supervise crew as necessary), • Load trucks and check all case packs (Lead/supervise crew as necessary), • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse daily, • Assist in developing new and effective methods to store, organize, pack and ship equipment, as well as warehouse organizational methods to better improve shop, • Maintain highest level of quality control of all inventories., • Daily/Weekly communication with VP of Production on scheduling shop days/truck loading and unloading, • Assisting with supervising crew on shop projects as necessary, • Work closely with department heads for any department specific project needs, • Assigning crew as directed by VP of Production, • Directly assisting department heads as necessary, • Track equipment repair process, ensure equipment is repaired by assigning appropriate staff or outsourcing repairs in coordination with the VP of Production. Making sure out-of-service equipment is updated in warehouse software system, • Conducting equipment repair work when it is within personal knowledge scope, • Fleet Management to include:, • Maintain proper vehicle records (repairs/services/etc.), • Assigning crew to any repairs or issues with vehicles in coordination with VP of Production, • Sending vehicles out for repairs in coordination with VP of Production, • Make sure all vehicles loaded for events are properly cleaned and fueled, • Inspecting vehicles e-track, flooring, doors, locks, and general conditions seasonally, • Assist VP of Production in coordinating rental truck & Equipment pick-ups/drop-offs as necessary, • Delivery/Pickup equipment to and from venues (or warehouses) as necessary / Gear swapping between Salem/PDX warehouses / Gear swapping between Cascade & rental partners (PDX, Bend, Seattle, Spokane), • In coordination with the VP of Production, schedule travel accommodations, • Must be 21 years of age, have a valid driver’s license with 3 years of clean driving history, • Must be in sufficient health to obtain a medical driver’s card (same medical requirements as a CDL), • Must be detail oriented and highly organized, • Thrives in a high pressure, fast-paced working environment, • Must be able to physically lift heavy objects, • Prior warehouse experience managing and organizing spaces for efficient processes, • Basic competency with MS Office and Excel, • Experience with warehouse control software systems, including the ability to retrieve information, add notes, maintain changes in inventory items, pull reports and import and export data from and to Excel, • Be a strategic thinker and apply learned knowledge of our operations to organizing warehouse software, • Experience loading box trucks, understanding weight distribution and basic DOT weight limitations, • Have general knowledge of commercial vehicles repairs and maintenance service routines, • Be an excellent communicator; comfortable speaking with people, • Knowledge of the Audio, Video, and Lighting event production equipment., • Prior experience working in the event production industry (concerts and/or corporate), • Experience operating box truck/commercial vehicles., • Current or past Commercial Driver’s License holder, • Experience with Rentman software, • Experience with making repairs to equipment, soldering, working with electronics, • Experience in leadership positions supervising employees, • Live local to Salem for after-hours warehouse duties and last-minute tasks.Company DescriptionCascade Sound, Inc is 50+ year old establish company.
