Job Description Enkai Sushi Bar is located in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands!!! Relocation Assistance available! Sushi Chef Job Summary Our restaurant needs an experienced Sushi Chef to join our team. You will prepare sushi rolls and dishes from the orders coming in from the bartenders and servers. Our ideal candidate is comfortable with a variety of sushi rolling, plating, and related cooking techniques and has experience working in a busy sushi restaurant. Advanced knife cutting skills are a must. We expect our sushi chefs to be friendly and interact with customers, providing recommendations on different dishes when requested. Once trained, he will oversee dishes appetizer/dessert chef plating as well as the other rollers on the line. Responsible for running the line during service whilst in the main sushi roller position once trained. Sushi Chef Duties and Responsibilities • Greet customers as they sit down, • Prepare raw fish and other sushi ingredients, • Roll and plate dishes for customers, taking note of individual requests, • Maintain a clean and safe workspace, • Coordinate with wait staff to ensure an efficient flow of orders, • Regularly take kitchen inventory, • Placing food orders from vendors and receiving vendors delivering daily, • Oversee other sushi rollers, appetizer/dessert cook and food preppers when there is time., • Kitchen scheduling, • Hiring/firing and interviewing when train and can handle, • Culinary arts education and training (preferred), • Cooking and sushi-making experience, • Food handler's card, • Knife skills, • Communication, time-management, and organizational abilities, • Leadership, • Running the line during high flow business hours, • Station checksCompany DescriptionAn artistic specialty sushi restaurant, with friendly vibe, fusion food (we can incorporate any kind of cuisine into sushi type dishes).
