Job Description Department: Safety & Security Location: Cary, NC Onsite Reports To: Program Lead FLSA Status: Exempt Position Summary The [Events & Travel Security Lead] is responsible for developing and executing security plans for company-sponsored events, executive appearances, and high-visibility engagements. This role owns event-specifi c security detail planning, site risk assessments, and coordination across multiple lines of business to ensure appropriate security posture and preparedness. The [Events & Travel Security Lead] also supports travel security planning, global travel monitoring, and intelligence-driven reporting, working closely with GSOC Analysts, the Travel Team, Physical Security, and external partners. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Event Security Planning & Coordination ● Extensive domestic and international travel required to support onsite events. ● Develop comprehensive security detail plans for events, executive engagements, and high-profi le gatherings. ● Conduct site risk assessments for event venues, including access points, crowd dynamics, emergency response considerations, and local threat environment. ● Coordinate security planning eff orts across Event Planning, Physical Security, GSOC, Legal, HR, and Executive stakeholders. ● Defi ne security posture, staffi ng requirements, access controls, and response contingencies for events. ● Establish OSINT Followings, Queries, and Event Monitoring to support pre-event and live intelligence coverage. ● Maintain visibility over upcoming events requiring security review or approval. Event Operations & Incident Support ● Serve as the primary security coordination point during live events. ● Monitor for real-time threats, disruptions, protests, or safety concerns impacting events. ● Coordinate response actions with GSOC Analysts, Physical Security, and external partners as needed. ● Escalate issues to GSOC leadership when risk thresholds are met. ● Support post-event debriefs and document security-related outcomes. ● Serve as the primary security coordination point during live events. ● Establish and maintain communication with law enforcement, emergency services, and other stakeholders. ● Respond to and manage security incidents, including emergencies and safety issues. ● Monitor for real-time incidents, disruptions, protests, medical issues, or safety concerns impacting events. ● Support on-site or remote response coordination during security incidents. ● Escalate issues to GSOC leadership, Physical Security, or external partners when required. ● Support post-event debriefs and documentation of any security-related issues. Travel Security Management ● Proactively notify impacted travelers and Executive Assistants during significant disruptions. ● Support travelers during elevated risk scenarios, including medical issues, safety concerns, or unexpected border or immigration challenges. ● Coordinate escalation to GSOC leadership, Physical Security, or external partners when traveler safety may be impacted. ● Identify and assess travel disruptions including airport closures, airline outages, strikes, weather events, and geopolitical activity. ● Draft and distribute travel‑related ADVISORIES in coordination with GSOC leadership when thresholds are met. ● Partner with the Travel Team to support executive travel planning and travel security requirements. ● Maintain and update travel‑related SOPs, templates, and playbooks as processes evolve. Communications & Stakeholder Coordination ● Act as the central liaison for event security coordination across multiple lines of business. ● Coordinate with Executive Assistants on itineraries, security considerations, and contingency planning. ● Provide leadership with clear, concise briefings and updates related to event and travel security. Documentation & Quality Control ● Produce Global Travel SITREP reports and event-specific security summaries. ● Document security plans, site risk assessments, and incidents in Jira and approved systems. ● Ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriate tone in all written security documentation. ● Maintain and update event security SOPs, templates, and risk assessment frameworks. ● Support after-action reviews by capturing timelines, impacts, and recommendations. ● Document event security plans, risk assessments, and incidents in Jira and approved documentation systems. ● Ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriate tone in all event-related security communications. ● Maintain and update event security SOPs, templates, and checklists. ● Support after-action reviews by capturing timelines, impacts, and recommendations. ● Document travel‑related incidents, advisories, and actions taken in Jira and other required systems. ● Ensure accuracy, tone, and completeness of written communications related to travel support. ● Support post‑incident reviews by providing timelines, impact summaries, and lessons learned. Tool Proficiency & Systems Usage The [Events & Travel Security Lead] is expected to maintain proficiency in systems used to support event and travel security operations, including but not limited to: ● OSINT Event monitoring, Followings, Queries, and threat intelligence collection ● Executive travel monitoring and risk visibility ● Mass communication for event and travel-related advisories and notifi cations ● Event Security planning, incident tracking, and documentation ● Access control review and video retrieval when applicable ● G Suite Risk assessments, security plans, and reporting ● Business communication platforms for real-time coordination with GSOC and stakeholders Minimum Qualifications ● 2+ years of experience in event security planning, GSOC operations, corporate security, or a related operational role. ● Demonstrated experience developing security plans, conducting site risk assessments, or supporting executive-level events. ● Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess threats and translate risk into actionable security plans. ● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder briefi ngs and formal reporting. ● Ability to manage multiple events and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. ● Proven reliability, accountability, and follow-through.
