Job Description SUMMARY: The Flight Nurse provides high quality pre-hospital advanced life support including assessment, triage and treatment utilizing the standards and guidelines established by the Medical Director(s) within scope of practice during the entire transport. They independently assess the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish and prioritize the care needed for safe transport of the critical patient. Must be qualified to provide care for patients across the life span in the assigned clinical area. Responsible for carrying out the company mission and vision during the transport ensuring safety is the highest priority. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provides advanced life support care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility while working in small and compressed spaces. This includes planning and preparing for flight missions through review of patient information, communication with office staff, and sending facility staff., • Maintains thorough patient care documentation and completes charting within established timelines and guidelines., • Performs advanced skills and procedures as approved by Medical Directors., • Provides care within the scope of practice as defined by state regulation., • Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing didactic, laboratory and clinical experiences.
