Description Position Overview: The Nurse (LPN) will be responsible for the coordination and direct oversight of the medical services. The nurse will be responsible for the smoking cessation, diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, HIV, AIDS, and substance abuse workshops, medication compliance, and one on one session with each client. Four days/28 hours per week Responsibilities: Coordinating the care of clients; Liaising with clients, relatives and fellow professionals in the community treatment team and attending regular meetings to review and monitor clients' care plans; Visiting clients in their home to monitor progress; •Assessing clients' behavior and psychological needs; •Identifying whether and when clients are at risk of harming themselves or others. Assessing and talking to clients about their problems and discussing the best way to plan and deliver their care; Ensuring the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitoring the results of treatment; Responding to distressed clients in a non-threatening manner and attempting to understand the source of distress; Applying 'de-escalation' techniques to help people manage their emotions and behavior; Preparing and participating in group and/or one-to-one therapy sessions, both individually and with other health professionals; Providing evidence-based individual therapy, such as cognitive behavior therapy for depression and anxiety; Encouraging clients to take part in art, drama or occupational therapy where appropriate; Organizing social events aimed at developing clients social skills; Preparing and maintaining client records; Producing care plans and risk assessments for individual clients; Ensuring that the legal requirements appropriate to a particular setting or group of clients are observed; Working with clients families and helping to educate them and the client about their mental health problems; Promoting a 'recovery' based approach to care. Job Announcement MENA Program Director The International Legal Foundation (ILF) is hiring a program director to help advance the development of the ILF’s public defender programs in Tunisia and the West Bank. The ILF program director for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) will lead the ILF’s long-term efforts in the region to build a culture of defense through practical skill-building and case-based mentoring, as well as project implementation aimed at strengthening the quality and effectiveness of defense services. This is a great opportunity for an experienced criminal defense lawyer to join a global team of experts who are fighting injustice and discrimination while transforming legal systems around the world. Driven by the belief that every person accused of a crime deserves to be represented by a well-trained lawyer, the ILF has established pioneering public defender programs in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Nepal, Tunisia and the West Bank of Palestine, and is providing technical assistance to legal aid providers in the Republic of Georgia and Indonesia, who are leading the fight for equal access to justice for poor and vulnerable accused. The ILF’s uniquely practical and effective approach focuses on incrementally developing the knowledge and skills of local lawyers through mentoring—not simply dropping in and providing one off trainings—empowering them to provide high-quality, client-centered, rights-based legal aid and challenge injustice. In addition to its ground-up work establishing effective public defender systems, the ILF also engages in high-level global advocacy, pushing countries, international institutions, and donors to prioritize legal aid as a fundamental human right. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, committed advocate with experience training and mentoring lawyers on how to use the law to increase access to justice and respect for the rule of law. They will also have familiarity with performance standards and guidelines for quality defense representation, with successful experience working in an international or inter-cultural setting. This position is intended to be based out of the ILF’s New York office in Midtown Manhattan, but both hybrid and completely remote opportunities are available. The salary range for this position is $75,000 to $90,000. The ILF considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. About the Position Jericho Project is seeking an experienced and responsible individual to join its team as a House Manager. The House Manager reports to the Manager, Building Operations and is responsible for the overall security of the site and assistance with clerical duties. Responsibilities: Ø Secure and maintain the safety of the tenants and the facility. Ø Distribute mail correspondences in the appropriate mail slot. Ø Provide crisis intervention when necessary. Ø Administer Narcan Nasal Spray to residents during a medical emergency. Ø Responsible for reporting and electronically document all incidents on site. Ø Monitor and visually verify that clients are safe by conducting wellness checks in accordance with Directors and Case Manager’s directive and client request(s). Ø Monitor and log client/visitor activity in logbook. Ø Provide support to Loring Place tenants when lockouts occur by providing access to their room. Ø Maintain compliance with fire safety codes. Ø Maintain the residence secure by conducting floor checks at the beginning of every shift. Ø Periodically attend house meetings, case conferences, and staff meetings. Ø Other duties as assigned. Ø This is a Per Diem position. There is no set schedule, hours are assigned according to the needs of the business. Requirements: Ø 1-year customer service experience required. Ø Fire Guard Certification required. (Must obtain within first year of employment) Ø Basic computer skills knowledge required. Ø Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing. Ø Other duties as assigned. Ø Candidate has at least one years of experience working with individuals in with substance abuse history. Ø An understanding of working with individuals who have experienced homelessness and substance use. Compensation: The salary for this position is $17.50 per hour. Employees are eligible for a merit increase annually. Merit increases are based on the employee’s performance during the prior year.
