Are you ready to play a key role in our Engineering Team? The Director of Engineering is a key leadership role within the organization, responsible for overseeing all engineering activities related to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of wind turbine technologies and supporting infrastructure. This role ensures the organization's engineering capabilities meet customer, industry, and regulatory requirements while driving innovation, efficiency, and performance optimization. The Director of Engineering will collaborate across multiple departments, including Operations, Quality, and R&D, to ensure project success and alignment with company goals. Are You Looking to: • Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence to drive efficient and effective engineering operations?, • Implement proactive technical monitoring of Operation Projects (across all revenue generating groups) to assure safe, efficient, and effective operations?, • Assure effective technical approval of Vendors and solutions that support the business groups?, • Identify risks and develop solutions for the business?, • Act as the primary point of contact for engineering-related discussions with customers, vendors, and partners?, • Collaborate with business development and sales teams to provide technical insights and support during the proposal and contract stages?, • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and site visits as required?, • Develop and implement strategic goals and initiatives for the engineering department to align with the company’s overall objectives?, • Serve as the technical authority and decision-maker for engineering-related activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations?, • Collaborate with other senior leaders to identify growth opportunities, optimize processes, and improve customer satisfaction?, • Oversee the design, development, and testing of wind turbine components, systems, and solutions to meet performance, reliability, and safety standards?, • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction, performance enhancement, and technology upgrades?, • Ensure compliance with industry standards, such as NFPA, ISO, IEC, and OSHA, as well as local, state, and federal regulations., • Review and approve engineering designs, technical documentation, and reports., • Manage engineering resources and allocate them effectively across multiple projects and programs., • Monitor project timelines, budgets, and milestones, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget., • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and customer requirements., • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop engineering talent to build a high-performing team., • Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members., • Promote a culture of professional growth, accountability, and knowledge-sharing within the department., • Step in to lead turn around projects and optimization projects in the organization., • Implement and maintain systems that improve business operations safety, longevity and profitability., • Drive technical projects to conclusion on time and within budget., • Take on other tasks and duties as required or assigned. What You’ll Need: • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field required)., • Master’s degree in Engineering, or a related field is preferred., • 10+ years of engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, • Proven track record of leading engineering teams and managing large-scale projects., • Experience with wind turbine design, maintenance, and operations is highly preferred., • Valid driving license (NON CDL / CDL), • Strong technical expertise in wind turbine systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems., • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams., • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on results., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders., • Proficient in engineering software tools, CAD systems, and data analysis platforms., • Knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices., • Must be able to pass a physical exam and drug/alcohol screening., • The employee must be capable of lifting and/or moving up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus because of potential work in close confines., • Employee must be physically fit enough to free climb 300 ft multiple times a day while wearing 25+ lbs. of climbing gear and work in extreme weather conditions., • Must be capable of rescuing team mate anywhere in tower in the event of emergency., • 401k with fully vested, generous company match available after 6 months., • Generous PTO, Excellent Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits., • Competitive Compensation.
