About the Role: As our Host / Hostess, you will be one of the first points of connection for guests visiting Beast & Butterflies. You will create a warm and welcoming first impression, manage the flow of the restaurant, coordinate seating, and support the service team in delivering a seamless dining experience. This role is ideal for someone who is personable, organized, confident, and genuinely enjoys connecting with people in a fast-paced, social environment. Your Impact – Guest Experience You will set the tone for the guest experience from the moment guests arrive. Through a warm welcome, thoughtful communication, and attentive service, you will help create an atmosphere that feels inviting, energetic, and distinctly M Social. What You'll Be Doing Guest Welcome & Experience • Welcome guests with a warm, friendly, and engaging attitude, • Create a positive first and last impression for every guest, • Manage guest arrivals, seating, and departures in a professional manner, • Provide accurate information about the restaurant, menus, hours, and hotel amenities, • Answer guest questions and assist with special requests, • Anticipate guest needs and communicate relevant information to the service team, • Handle guest concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate Reservations & Seating • Manage reservations and waitlists accurately using the restaurant reservation system, • Maintain an organized and efficient seating plan, • Escort guests to their tables and provide menus as appropriate, • Communicate estimated wait times accurately, • Monitor table availability and coordinate seating with servers and management, • Balance guest preferences with restaurant capacity and service flow, • Communicate special occasions, VIP guests, allergies, and other relevant information to the service team Restaurant Operations • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming host stand and entrance area, • Ensure menus, reservation materials, and guest supplies are properly stocked, • Assist with opening, closing, and side-work duties, • Monitor the dining room and communicate operational needs to the appropriate team members, • Assist servers and other team members during busy periods as needed, • Support smooth guest flow throughout the restaurant Team Collaboration • Work closely with servers, bartenders, food runners, culinary staff, and management, • Communicate effectively regarding reservations, guest needs, table status, and service priorities, • Help maintain an organized and positive restaurant environment, • Support team members during high-volume service, • Contribute to a team-first culture where everyone works together to create an exceptional guest experience Safety & Compliance • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations, • Follow company safety policies and procedures, • Maintain a clean and safe entrance and host stand, • Report spills, hazards, maintenance concerns, or other issues promptly, • Follow established procedures for guest information and reservation records Requirements • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences, • Warm, friendly, and engaging personality, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Professional appearance and positive attitude, • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, • Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment, • Strong attention to detail, • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts Technical / Role-Specific Requirements • Previous host, hostess, server, restaurant, hotel, or customer service experience preferred, • Experience with restaurant reservation systems preferred, • Experience with POS systems is a plus, • Strong knowledge of basic restaurant operations and dining etiquette, • Ability to manage multiple guest requests and seating priorities simultaneously, • Food Handler Card required or ability to obtain upon hire, as applicable Preferred Qualifications • Previous hotel or lifestyle restaurant experience preferred, • Experience with OpenTable or similar reservation systems is a plus, • Previous experience in a high-volume restaurant environment, • Strong knowledge of local dining and hospitality offerings is beneficial, • Bilingual abilities are a plus Physical Requirements • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift, • Ability to frequently move throughout the restaurant and lobby areas, • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and move as needed during service, • Ability to safely carry menus, supplies, and other items, • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume, guest-facing environment Education • High school diploma or equivalent preferred, • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered Benefits At Millennium Hotels & Resorts, we support our employees with a competitive benefits package designed to promote wellbeing and long-term success: • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance, • Company-paid Life and AD&D Insurance, • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Coverage, • 401(k) Retirement Plan with Company Match (where applicable), • Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays, • Hotel Room Discounts across our global portfolio, • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Benefits eligibility and offerings are subject to plan terms and company policy.
