MISSION STATEMENT: We transform lives and communities through the power of education, training and employment. PURPOSE OF POSITION: Supervise contract compliance and quality assurance functions. Direct, participate and coordinate internal day-to-day production operations on 2nd shift. To fulfill mission statement. Fulfill mission statement. SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Supervision from the 1st shift Production Manager and Director of Business Services. Works in coordination with the 1st shift Production Manager. SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Direct supervision of production personnel on 2nd shift, many of which may have recently been released from Correctional facilities, may currently be on parole, enrolled as adult students, or other employees with barriers to employment. Position includes directing work, evaluating employee efficiency and productivity; handling employee complaints, and disciplining employees in cooperation with Chief Operating Officer. Position involves controlling the flow and distribution of contract products, materials and supplies to meet production requirements. Responsible for safety of employees and property. May also interview, select and train employees. QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION: Prefer bachelor’s degree in Business, Criminal Justice or Technical field. High school diploma or GED required. SPECIAL SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE: Previous experience in supervision or production in manufacturing setting desired. Previous experience working within Criminal Justice system, or with ex-offenders desired. Management/supervisory experience is required. Ability to train using work instructions. ISO standards familiarity preferred. Good driving skills. Must have a valid license to drive in Kansas. JOB COMPETENCIES: Coordinate the actions and activities required to implement contracted work with outside customers. Monitor all contracts, production, shipping records and invoice schedules. Comprehend ISO standards for Work Instructions, procedures, blue prints, and purchase order control system used for contracts. Monitor the ordering of materials required in a timely manner to insure no loss of production in contracts. Prepare packing list, invoices, Bill of Lading and supporting documents for contracts when required. Must meet contract delivery schedule. Maintain ISO/CARF compliance/certification. Track production volumes produced and carry out contract work programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • In coordination with the 1st shift Production Manager, has responsibility for all customer’s contract PO production/fulfillment according to delivery/Production schedule., • Directs, participates and coordinates 2nd shift production operation to achieve production goals., • Comprehend ISO Work Instructions, procedures, blueprints, and purchase order control system used for contracts., • Monitor the ordering and coordination of materials required in a timely manner to insure no loss of production on contracts for 2nd shift., • Prepare packing list, invoices, Bill of Lading and all other supporting documents for applicable contracts when required., • Utilizes agency vehicle to provide transportation to a designated location for 2nd shift employees., • Communicate as needed with applicable staff supports, including Goodwill/NexStep Student Success Coaches, approved community partners, and/or parole and probation officers. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Implement company policies and procedures through subordinate administration and personnel., • Gives input for contract and production personnel performance appraisals., • Drive agency van to provide transportation to/from designated location for employees., • Attend meetings when called on. i.e.; Staff meetings, safety meetings, and department meetings., • Responsible for direct supervision of all production employees on 2nd shift., • Responsible for all aspects of ISO Quality Standards ensuring they are adhered to during 2nd shift., • Participate in ISO management team reviews and audits., • Perform internal quality checks on production areas., • Performs vendor surveys and checks to ensure vendor compliance when called on., • Responsible for safety and well-being of all contract employees on 2nd shift., • Adhere to all safety policies and reports violations., • Support mission statement and activities of other departments., • Support the accessibility of our services and facilities free of architectural, attitudinal, environmental, financial, communication, transportation, employment and any other barriers to persons with disabilities and other barriers to employment., • Adhere to all ethical standards and confidentiality of records. PHYSICAL STRENGTH: • Lift -- push/pull while standing - up to 50 pounds., • Carry -- push/pull while moving - up to 50 pounds on a daily basis. Not every day, but up to 100 pounds.
