Job DescriptionSalary: $15 Job Title: Funeral Director Intern Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Mon - Friday, some weekends Overview: As a Funeral Director Intern, you will gain hands-on experience and valuable insight into the funeral services industry. This internship offers an opportunity to learn the intricacies of funeral directing, from assisting families in their time of need to managing various aspects of funeral arrangements and services. Under the guidance of experienced funeral directors, you will contribute to providing compassionate care and support to grieving families while developing essential skills for a career in funeral services. Responsibilities: 1. Assist in meeting with bereaved families to discuss funeral arrangements, including burial or cremation options, casket selection, and service details., 2. Aid in coordinating logistics for funeral services, such as securing venues, arranging transportation for the deceased, and scheduling clergy or celebrants., 3. Support the preparation of the deceased for viewing, ensuring proper embalming, dressing, and cosmetic presentation., 4. Assist in directing funeral services, including coordinating processionals, overseeing floral arrangements, and managing audiovisual equipment., 5. Provide compassionate support and guidance to grieving family members and friends during visitations and services., 6. Assist with administrative tasks, such as answering phones, filing, completing necessary paperwork, obtaining permits, and managing records in compliance with legal requirements., 7. Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of funeral home facilities, including chapels, viewing rooms, and preparation areas., 8. Participate in ongoing training and educational opportunities to expand knowledge of funeral directing practices and industry regulations., 9. Collaborate with other funeral home staff, including embalmers, administrative personnel, and funeral assistants, to ensure seamless service delivery., 10. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and sensitivity in all interactions with clients and colleagues., 11. Additional Task as assigned Qualifications: 1. Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a mortuary science program or related field., 2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate compassionately and effectively with individuals experiencing grief., 3. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines., 4. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor, demonstrating sensitivity to the needs and emotions of grieving families., 5. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion., 6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed., 7. Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and funeral service management software., 8. Physical ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds and perform tasks related to the care and preparation of the deceased., 9. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and following industry regulations and best practices., 10. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Job Description We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Funeral Service Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cremation equipment, ensuring the respectful handling of remains, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role requires a strong commitment to providing dignified service to families during their time of loss. Key Responsibilities: • Operate and maintain cremation equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations., • Prepare documentation of remains for cremation, including identification verification and proper handling. Conduct cremations in a respectful and professional manner, adhering to established protocols., • Maintain accurate records of cremation services and ensure proper documentation is completed., • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of crematory equipment and facilities., • Collaborate with funeral home staff to coordinate services and ensure seamless experience for families., • Assist with transfer of casket into funeral building, • Transfer cremated remains into urns and place urns in niches when needed., • Maintain repair and maintenance of building such as masonry, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting., • Perform sundry duties will be required. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in mortuary science or related field is a plus., • Must be state-certified within one year of employment, • Clean drivers license, • Previous experience in a crematory or funeral home setting preferred., • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills., • Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism., • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 lbs as needed., • Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment., • Competitive salary package, • Sharing the cost of Comprehensive health insurance plans, including medical, dental and vision coverage., • 401(k) plan with employer yearly contributions at the Company's sole discretion.

Summary Eversight's Auxiliary Recovery Technician is a part-time position for Eversight's New Jersey team. This position is responsible for performing human eye enucleations and/or in situ corneal excisions according to Eversight protocols when a deceased individual or Next-of-Kin gives permission for eye tissue donation. On-the job training on eye tissue recovery procedures will be provided. Schedule flexibility with most help needed during evenings from 6pm-6am during the week. Day shift availability is also a plus. Compensation is $125 per case + mileage reimbursement Essential Job Functions: • Perform in situ human eye enucleations, corneal excisions, or other ocular tissue recoveries. Make appropriate procurement determinations based on donor, medical and body inspection., • Package and deliver transport container with eyes/corneas, blood samples and paperwork to the designated area., • Effectively communicate with staff regarding recovery logistics and coordinate recovery with other organizations. Communicate with clinical staff regarding case statuses., • Obtain and review hospital chart prior to recovery when available. information and complete required recovery documentation., • Observe strict confidentiality of donor and recipient information., • Complete a periodic competency assessment, at least annually., • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by signing off on procedures and other informational updates., • Night, weekend, holiday and on-call coverage as negotiated., • Travel to Ann Arbor, Michigan for training purposes., • Demonstrates a commitment to the Mission and Values of Eversight. Skills: Must be comfortable working with cadavers. Proficiency in technical procedures after appropriate training. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with all staff within and outside of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with peers while fostering a positive work environment. Demonstrated customer service skills. Valid driver’s license and use of personal vehicle is required. Work Environment & Physical Demands Work is performed in a patient care setting, such as a hospital operating room or morgue, or another facility such as a funeral home with potential exposure to communicable diseases or hazardous materials. Travel to procurement sites is required. Turning of a donor of up to 400 pounds, pushing a stretcher/morgue cart with a body of up to that weight and/or lifting of up to 50 pounds may be required. The majority of time is spent standing and walking as well as lifting. Simultaneous use of both hands is required. Movements such as balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, twisting, and bending are sometimes required. Audio, visual and verbal functions are vital aspects of this position. Limited noise, room temperature fluctuation and dust are possible. Routine use of computer. Use of personal vehicle is required when traveling within the service area.
