The RN will maintain the delivery of high-quality patient care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. This role involves supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, as well as mentoring orientees. Key Responsibilities: • Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of an individualized plan of care., • Identify patient teaching needs and collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to set goals related to diagnoses., • Provide timely patient information and status updates for Initial and Re-evaluation Team Conferences., • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record., • Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and be accountable for direct patient care, prioritizing education based on identified health care needs., • Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and educate patients in anticipation of discharge., • Communicate significant changes in patient status to care providers to ensure continuity of care and safety., • Supervise, train, and guide ancillary nursing personnel; utilize effective delegation and problem-solving techniques., • Promote personal and environmental safety in compliance with nursing policies and procedures., • Contribute positively to unit functioning by providing calm direction and reassurance to staff, patients, and families., • Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, including supplies and clinical training., • Assume charge responsibilities when requested post-orientation., • Engage in professional growth through continuing education and self-study., • Prioritize activities and effectively manage time and staff to meet patient needs., • Perform any other duties as requested. Qualifications: • BLS Certification required prior to first shift., • ACLS certification required (CIRH ONLY)., • Minimum of 2 years of bedside clinical experience in a hospital setting., • Experience in Progressive Care Unit (PCU), Critical Care, or Step-Down units is preferred.
