Job DescriptionSenior Desktop Support TechnicianJob Type: Temporary (12-week assignment) Pay Rate: $30/hour Location: Poughkeepsie, NY | On-siteJob OverviewMadison Approach Staffing is recruiting for a Senior Desktop Support Technician to support our client's healthcare IT department. This role will be responsible for deploying desktops, laptops, and related hardware to clinical and administrative staff while ensuring all systems meet stringent security, privacy, and HIPAA compliance standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in hardware deployment, software installation and configuration, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service to end users during system rollouts. Experience in healthcare or similar regulated environments is strongly preferred. This is an immediate-start, 12-week contract opportunity.Key Responsibilities • Deploy desktops, laptops, and related hardware to clinical and administrative staff across the healthcare facility, • Install, configure, and update software applications based on role-specific requirements and departmental needs, • Ensure all systems meet security, privacy, and compliance standards including HIPAA regulations, • Coordinate with the desktop team to schedule and execute deployments with minimal disruption to clinical and business operations, • Provide initial technical support and guidance to end users during deployment and system setup, • Configure user accounts, permissions, and access rights according to security protocols, • Install and configure peripherals including printers, scanners, monitors, and specialized medical equipment interfaces, • Document all deployment activities, configurations, and end-user interactions, • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues during deployment process, • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure proper functionality before handoff to end users, • Maintain accurate inventory records of deployed equipment and software licenses, • Collaborate with IT security team to ensure compliance with organizational policies and industry regulationsRequired Skills & Experience, • Experience: Minimum 3+ years of experience in desktop support, hardware deployment, or IT technical support, • Education: Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and additional work experience, • Hardware Expertise: Strong knowledge of desktop and laptop hardware including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, • Operating Systems: Proficiency with Windows 10/11 operating systems, including imaging and deployment, • Software Installation: Experience installing and configuring business applications and role-specific software, • Technical Support: Proven ability to provide end-user support and training in a professional manner, • Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users, • Organization: Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple deployments simultaneously, • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues independently and escalate when appropriate, • Customer Service: Professional demeanor with strong customer service orientationPreferred Skills & Experience, • Experience in healthcare or other regulated industries (financial services, legal, government), • Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements and healthcare IT security standards, • Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) or Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, • Familiarity with Active Directory, Group Policy, and network connectivity, • Experience with desktop imaging tools (SCCM, MDT, or similar), • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) solutions, • CompTIA A+, Network+, or other relevant IT certifications, • Experience with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, or similar), • Understanding of clinical workflows and healthcare terminologyWork Schedule & Details, • Monday through Friday, standard business hours, • On-site position in Poughkeepsie, NY, • 12-week temporary assignment, • Immediate start date availableTo Apply: Please submit your resume to Madison Approach Staffing.
