Job DescriptionTax Supervisor/ Manager Tax Supervisor/Manager Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Tax Supervisor/Manager to lead tax compliance, provision, and planning activities for a dynamic corporate finance organization. The role will manage day-to-day tax operations, deliver accurate and timely income tax returns and ASC 740 tax provisions, support M&A due diligence, drive tax planning and modeling, and implement tax technology and process improvements. The ideal candidate will be technically strong across corporate, international, and indirect taxes, experienced with tax accounting and financial reporting, and able to mentor a small team while collaborating with finance, legal, and external advisors. Key Responsibilities • Oversee and manage preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, and local income tax returns (Forms 1120/1065/1040) and related schedules to ensure timely and accurate compliance., • Lead the quarterly and annual tax provision process (ASC 740), including deferred tax accounting, tax basis calculations, rollforwards, and reconciliations to financial statements., • Maintain and manage the SALT (state & local tax) agenda, sales & use tax matters, and nexus evaluations to minimize exposure and ensure compliance., • Support international tax matters including global mobility/expatriate programs, VAT/GST, cross-border transactions, transfer pricing documentation, BEPS considerations, FATCA/CRS reporting, and withholding tax analyses., • Provide tax technical research and interpretive guidance on complex issues; prepare memos and positions to support tax positions, audits, and tax planning initiatives., • Participate in M&A tax due diligence, post-acquisition integration, purchase price allocations, and tax structuring to optimize deal outcomes and identify risks., • Identify and manage credits and incentives including R&D tax credits; analyze eligibility, prepare documentation, and support filings and examinations., • Drive tax planning, forecasting, and modeling initiatives including cash tax forecasting, effective tax rate modeling, and scenario analyses to support business decisions., • Manage relationships with external counsel and tax advisors and lead responses to tax audits and controversy matters., • Implement and optimize tax technology and automation (ONESOURCE, CorpTax, GoSystem, Ultratax, ProSystem fx, Alteryx) and support ERP-tax integrations (SAP, Oracle, CCH) to improve workflow and controls., • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior tax staff; assign work, perform reviews, and promote continuous improvement in tax processes and documentation., • Maintain the tax compliance calendar, deadlines, and controls; ensure accurate tax provision inputs to external and internal financial reporting., • Prepare clear, concise tax summaries and presentations for finance leadership, auditors, and executive stakeholders., • Leverage advanced Excel, Power BI, and SQL skills to streamline reporting, build dashboards, and enhance analytics for tax and finance teams. Qualifications • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Tax, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree (MST, MS Tax, JD, or MBA) preferred., • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent strongly preferred., • 7+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting (Big Four) and/or industry with demonstrated experience in corporate tax compliance and consulting., • Proven experience preparing and reviewing income tax returns (Forms 1120/1065/1040) and managing multi-state filings and SALT matters., • Hands-on experience with tax provision and tax accounting (ASC 740), deferred tax accounting, and financial reporting under US GAAP and/or IFRS., • Practical experience in international tax, transfer pricing, FATCA/CRS compliance, BEPS documentation, and cross-border tax planning., • Experience supporting M&A tax due diligence, purchase price allocations, and post-transaction integration., • Familiarity with indirect taxes (VAT/GST) and global sales & use tax compliance., • Proven ability with tax and provision software (ONESOURCE, CorpTax, GoSystem, Ultratax, ProSystem fx) and tax data tools (Alteryx, Power BI, SQL); experience with ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle, CCH) is a plus., • Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VBA/macros) and demonstrated ability to build tax models, cash tax forecasts, and automated reporting., • Strong analytical, tax research, and problem-solving skills with attention to technical detail and documentation., • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to present tax positions to senior management and coordinate with auditors and external advisors., • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience, including mentoring and developing tax staff and managing workload priorities., • Willingness to travel occasionally and work cross-functionally to meet critical deadlines.
