Job DescriptionJob Title: Pump MechanicJob Description We are seeking a skilled Pump Mechanic to specialize in the repair and maintenance of pumps and rotating equipment, primarily focusing on water market products. This role involves reading and interpreting equipment manuals, performing diversified services, and ensuring high-quality work while maintaining safety standards. Responsibilities • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and associated services., • Read and comprehend technical documentation, such as drawings, and create thorough inspection and test reports., • Use pneumatic, power, and hand tools proficiently., • Perform teardowns, inspections, troubleshooting, voltage conversions, impeller trims/change-outs, and repairs on pumps and rotating equipment both in-shop and in-field., • Assist with removals, installations, troubleshooting, repairs, and services on pumps and rotating equipment at customer sites., • Maintain accurate material, parts, and labor records., • Ensure work quality meets company standards., • Optimize material usage without sacrificing quality., • Interface with internal and external stakeholders as required., • Organize and maintain a safe and clean work area., • Show initiative in identifying and suggesting process improvements., • Use proper protective safety equipment and adhere to company policies and procedures., • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and cranes safely., • Participate in training sessions and implement newly acquired skills., • Proficient in assembly, mechanical and rotating equipment, compressors, and electrical systems., • Ability to perform high-quality pump repairs, testing, and reconfigurations., • Effective communication with internal colleagues, supply partners, and customers., • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds., • Adherence to safety procedures in varied environmental conditions., • Strong project management skills, including deadline management and stakeholder engagement., • Reliable time management and adherence to job requirements., • Professionalism under pressure with a positive attitude., • Deductive reasoning skills for problem-solving., • Knowledge of metric and imperial measurement systems., • Ability to receive and retain training on hand tools and equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bakersfield, California. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.
