Job Description Job Title: Wiring Technician Job Description The Wiring Technician will assemble and wire electrical components into finished products according to specifications, blueprints, and work orders. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret diagrams and schematics, and a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Wiring Technician will work closely with a supportive team, contribute to continuous improvement efforts, and help ensure that electrification products meet stringent quality and performance standards. Responsibilities • Follow all company safety protocols and procedures, including consistently wearing required personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, and ear protection., • Use hand tools and power tools in a safe and proper manner and maintain a clean, organized, and tidy work area., • Read and interpret diagrams, schematics, blueprints, front views, bills of materials, and other manufacturing documentation to ensure accurate assembly and wiring., • Assemble components into finished products according to specifications, work orders, and established procedures, including switchboards, panelboards, and related electrical structures., • Ensure the structural quality of assemblies by checking that products are level, square, and built to specification., • Inspect components such as corner posts, roofs, covers, and other parts for damage, including dents and scratches, before and during assembly., • Use torque wrenches to torque bolts to the required specifications and verify that all fasteners meet quality standards., • Assemble copper bussing according to design requirements and verify correct spacing from phase to phase and to ground., • Perform visual inspections of materials and assemblies before, during, and after assembly to identify nonconforming parts and troubleshoot errors., • Utilize various hand tools and equipment to accurately install materials, following established procedures for each assigned function., • Communicate job progress, issues, and part shortages to leads and team members in a clear and timely manner., • Identify missing components and proactively resolve issues using oral and written instructions, drawings, and system information., • Contribute to process improvement by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance quality and efficiency and participating in root cause analysis for quality or production issues., • Work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment to meet production goals and quality standards., • Use computer systems, including ERP and CAD software, to open and follow structural designs and access manufacturing information., • Support inventory control and manufacturing processes by accurately following work orders and documenting work as required., • Multi-task and prioritize work effectively to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced production environment., • Perform other related duties as assigned to support production, quality, and operational objectives. Essential Skills • Previous experience working as an assembler in a manufacturing environment., • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, and bills of materials., • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for assembly and wiring tasks., • Clear understanding of manufacturing information such as front views, bill of materials, drawings, blueprints, and order entry systems., • Ability to assemble switchboards, panelboards, and related electrical components using oral and written instructions., • Strong attention to detail, concentration, and accuracy in all assembly and inspection tasks., • Ability to perform visual inspections and identify nonconforming parts, damage, and assembly errors., • Skill in using torque wrenches and following specified torque requirements., • Strong communication skills and ability to work cooperatively within a team., • Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot issues related to quality, missing components, and production processes., • Ability to stand or walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed., • Ability to multi-task, establish work priorities, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment., • High school diploma or equivalent., • Familiarity with assembly tools, techniques, and manufacturing processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Proficiency with computers and CAD software to open and follow structural designs., • Experience working within a manufacturing environment that uses ERP systems and inventory control processes., • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain a clean and orderly work area., • Experience working under structured safety protocols and following detailed work instructions., • Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively with a team., • Willingness to participate in continuous improvement efforts and root cause analysis for quality or production issues., • Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth manufacturing setting with evolving processes., • Openness to cross-training and advancement into roles such as quality, machine operation, or leadership. Work Environment This role is based in a brand-new manufacturing facility that will ultimately support approximately 200–250 people on site, creating a dynamic and collaborative production environment. Work is performed on a manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures, and requires the ability to stand or walk for long periods and occasionally lift 25–50 lbs. The company provides safety glasses and requires steel-toed boots, long pants made of thicker material (no leggings), and long sleeves or company-supported cut-resistant sleeves to ensure a safe work setting. You will work with a variety of hand and power tools, torque wrenches, and computer systems, including ERP and CAD software, in a structured environment focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. During the first week, you will receive dedicated training before being assigned to your team, supported by a ratio of approximately five producers to one lead to ensure strong guidance and development. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, MD. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
