Job Description POSITION TITLE: Refrigeration/Kitchen Equipment Technician JOB DESCRIPTION: Maintain daily operation and repair of all ice machines, kitchen equipment, appliances and refrigeration equipment. DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: • Diagnose and repair various types of equipment from commercial refrigeration including freezers, coolers, ice machines, and maintain complete working knowledge of various kitchen equipment related to refrigeration., • Install new commercial refrigeration systems and components., • Relocate and expand existing commercial refrigeration systems as needed., • Repair, replace, or calibrate controls, thermostats, switches, fuses, and electrical wiring., • Wire and connect motors, compressors, temperature controls, and humidity controls according to wiring schematics., • Proper recovery of refrigerant to meet Federal requirements., • Perform preventive maintenance as scheduled for all commercial refrigeration equipment, including changing of filters and cleaning condensers and coils., • Receive and complete work orders., • Select material and hardware and make time and materials estimates., • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used., • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and materials., • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean., • Work with supervisors to complete projects., • Detect needed repairs on equipment following established inspection procedures., • Respond to emergency calls as needed and be on-call/stand-by as assigned by supervisor., • Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to safety procedures., • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, etc., • Minimum 2 years of service and repair work on refrigeration and food service equipment, • High School Diploma or GED, • Type Universal Certification per the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)., • Valid Arizona driving license Knowledge/Skills • Must be able to maintain and repair all types of refrigeration and food service equipment, • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and written reference material, • Ability to perform mathematical calculations, • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems, • Ability to use hand and power tools
