Job DescriptionDescription: The Direct Support Professional – Community Habilitation/Respite is responsible to implement and monitor individualized habilitation plans, in compliance with state, federal and Agency regulations and operating standards. The DSP works directly with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) providing habilitative (skill building) and behavioral support. The DSP will work to increase skill level and decrease challenging behaviors of individuals with autism by addressing goals outlined in their individual goal plan. The DSP will provide services within the person’s home and in their community in order to promote independence, inclusion and quality of life. You will Assist/Lead installing laundry, WareWash and Food Processing Dispensing Systems. You will be responsible for assigned Customers to service on a regular scheduled basis. Responsibilities Include: Install, maintain and repair dispensing equipment as well as demonstrate safe equipment use, ensuring that the equipment is fully operational. Must be proficient in using a multimeter, reading and interpreting wiring diagrams, and efficiently troubleshooting electrical issues. Install commercial dish machines as required Independently understand your customer's cleaning needs in order to proactively identify solutions that best meet customer expectations. Perform skilled mechanical/electrical work to troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain, repair, modify, and install machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems Follow specifications, blueprints, manuals, and schematic drawings. These duties shall be performed using hand tools, power tools, industrial equipment, measuring and testing instruments Working knowledge and understanding of HAZMAT, MSDS, EPA, and OSHA requirements. Know and explain the hazards associated with specific types of products, equipment and tools. Use appropriate tools for the job and comply with all company safety polices. Wear all the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required or necessary, know proper reporting of an accident or emergency. Always operate all equipment and/or machinery correctly and safely Assist outside vendors and/or contractors by providing information or lending assistance for work conducted at specified locations. The Ideal Candidate Will Have: High school diploma or equivalent Minimum of 1 year of related experience in one or more of the following areas: FoodService, Laundry or Food Processing. Experience in the commercial chemical industry servicing dish machines / warewash / water treatment / laundry a plus but not required Valid driver's license Mechanical ability Ability to work independently (self-motivated) Possess good organizational skills Tech Savvy - ability to use smart phones and learn new technologies Proficiency in the English language, bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift and carry up to 50lbs.
