Job DescriptionJob Title: Shipping and Receiving ClerkJob Description The Shipping and Receiving Clerk works in a warehouse environment handling incoming and outgoing materials, operating material handling equipment, and using RF scanners and computer systems to ensure accurate order processing. This role involves working in narrow aisles, being comfortable with heights, and performing general labor tasks such as lifting boxes and organizing inventory. Responsibilities • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments to ensure accuracy against purchase orders and shipping documents., • Prepare, package, and ship outgoing orders in accordance with established procedures and carrier requirements., • Operate reach trucks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment safely to move, load, and unload materials., • Use RF scanners to accurately pick, pack, and track inventory and orders within the warehouse., • Work efficiently in narrow aisles and at heights while following all safety guidelines and protocols., • Perform general labor tasks, including lifting boxes up to 50 lbs consistently, organizing stock, and maintaining clean and orderly work areas., • Enter and update shipment and inventory information in computer systems, including FedEx databases and SAP., • Ensure all materials are correctly labeled, stored, and staged for shipping or further processing., • Follow strict attendance and punctuality expectations to support smooth warehouse operations., • Present a professional and neat appearance while interacting with team members and supporting warehouse activities., • Demonstrate a desire to grow with the company by learning new tasks and taking on additional responsibilities over time.Essential Skills, • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently throughout the shift., • Comfort working in narrow aisles and at heights in a warehouse environment., • Experience with shipping and receiving processes in a warehouse or similar setting., • Ability to operate reach trucks and forklifts safely and efficiently., • Proficiency using RF scanners for order picking, inventory tracking, and verification., • Basic computer skills, including the ability to work with FedEx databases and SAP., • Strong punctuality and reliability, with adherence to strict attendance expectations., • Ability to perform general labor and warehouse tasks while maintaining productivity and safety., • Professional and presentable appearance in a warehouse setting., • Motivation to grow and develop within the company.Additional Skills & Qualifications, • Previous experience in order picking and order processing in a warehouse environment., • Experience with general warehouse labor, including organizing inventory and maintaining cleanliness., • Familiarity with shipping carriers and related documentation., • Comfort working with personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety procedures., • Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and processes, including additional warehouse technologies.Why Work Here? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Plainfield, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.50 - $23.25/hr.
