Introduction: The Relationship Management Group (RMG) serves as the centralized point of contact for current and prospective third-party asset manager/investment firms at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. RMG is dedicated to developing strengthening and broadening distribution partnerships to uncover product marketing and professional training solutions for Financial Advisors and clients. The team manages strategic partnerships with internal businesses and approximately 350 external asset management firms and seeks to enhance sales and revenue opportunities by educating partners on how to align their efforts and activities with Morgan Stanley goals and initiatives. Role: Vice President Director of Asset Manager Engagement & Sponsorships Reporting Line: COO & Head of Partner Programs Relationship Management Group Duties and Responsibilities: The Director of Asset Manager Engagement & Sponsorships will be responsible for securing approximately $20m in non-comp revenue from training and education sponsors on an annual basis to support Morgan Stanley Wealth managements Financial Advisor education and training events. This individual will work together with Finance on forecasting the reimbursable amounts on a quarterly basis and manage the sponsorship invoicing addition this individual will ensure that all expenses related to the education/training events are permissible per the Firms Non-Cash Compensation (NCC) Policy. The candidate will be tasked with the following: • Work with internal businesses to align MSWM Education and training events with sponsorship opportunities for Training & Education (T&E) Sponsors, • Stay abreast of MS Firm initiatives and curate a suite of relevant industry content thought leadership coaching education and speakers from across the industry to help drive these initiatives, • Work with internal business partners to generate new training ideas by utilizing top intellectual capital and practice management content offered by Training & Education Sponsors, • Host introductory relationship calls to bring together internal/external resources, • Educate internal business partners on how to use the 4U Platform to browse for asset manager educational/practice management content when creating agendas/themes for each event, • Oversee the creation content and distribution of the annual Training & Education Sponsorship brochure, • Educate internal business groups on the Firms Non-Cash Compensation (NCC) policy and ensure all meetings and training and education sponsorships are in adherence with this policy, • Review final expenses from all Training and Education events to determine eligible and ineligible expenses per the Firms NCC policy, • Allocate the final sponsorship amount based on those eligible expenses, • Oversee the creation and distribution of quarterly sponsorship invoices, • Responsible for detailed tracking and reporting of the events utilizing funding from the Training and & Education Sponsorship program, • Oversee the creation and distribution of various sales resources to aid both external and internal partners, • Speaker Library, • Digital RMG Insights newsletter to external asset managers to communicate key MSWM news, • Mid-Year update for Training & Education Sponsors, • Oversee the Training & Education Sponsorship content that is made available on the RMG Asset Manager Resources Portal Qualifications: • Bachelors Degree with emphasis on finance accounting marketing communications or equivalent experience, • 1-3 years of experience in financial services preferable, • Proficiency in all Microsoft programs particularly Excel and PowerPoint, • Series 7 preferred Personal Specifications • The successful candidate will demonstrate high personal initiative the ability to work independently and be a strong team player, • Effective communication and presentation skills are a must, • Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, • Strong analytical skills, • Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills including significant experience with Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel and PowerPoint, • Strong interpersonal collaborative and team skills including ability to work with third party asset management/investment managers and internal business partners WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM MORGAN STANLEY: We are committed to maintaining the first-class service and high standard of excellence that have defined Morgan Stanley for over 89 years. Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110000 and $185000 per year at the commencement of employment. However base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package which depending on the position may also include commission earnings incentive compensation discretionary bonuses other short and long-term incentive packages and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
