Job Description Position Summary As the AI Product Manager for iDC Logistics, you will lead discovery, prioritization, and delivery of AI-enabled capabilities for internal operations. You will focus on reducing manual work, retiring legacy custom-built tools, and improving operational accuracy and speed across transportation and logistics workflows. Reporting to the CTO as an individual contributor, you will partner closely with engineering leaders, operations, finance, and vendors to define the roadmap, write clear requirements, and make build-vs-buy decisions that accelerate outcomes. Solutions should be designed with human-in-the-loop controls where appropriate. Success will be measured by shipped outcomes and tracked ROI (time saved, error reduction, SLA improvements, cost-to-serve), not by the number of automations created. Key Responsibilities • Product Discovery & Workflow Documentation: Spend time with dispatch, warehouse, billing, and customer service teams to map end-to-end workflows, quantify pain points, and translate them into clear problem statements, user journeys, and acceptance criteria., • Opportunity Prioritization & Roadmap: Build and maintain an automation/AI roadmap that prioritizes opportunities by ROI, risk, and feasibility; balance quick wins with multi-quarter initiatives to replace legacy custom software and manual workflows., • Requirements & Execution Leadership: Write PRDs, user stories, and success metrics; partner with engineering to break work into milestones, manage scope, and deliver releases on a predictable cadence., • AI/Automation Product Design (Human-in-the-Loop): Define how AI assists users (draft, recommend, route, reconcile) while keeping the right approvals, audit trails, and fallbacks for operational correctness., • Legacy Replacement & Platform Integration: Drive consolidation of fragmented tools by aligning stakeholders on the target state and partnering with engineering on integrations across core systems (e.g., CargoWise, NetSuite, Blue Yonder) and the company data platform., • Build vs Buy & Vendor Delivery: Partner with engineering leaders to evaluate options (in-house build, vendor solutions, extensions to existing systems), define selection criteria, and drive vendor implementations (scope, success metrics, rollout plans) to ensure outcomes and adoption., • Launch, Adoption & Change Management: Plan rollouts, training, and documentation; define operational ownership and support processes; monitor adoption and iterate based on feedback from frontline users., • ROI & Operational Quality: Establish baselines, instrument products, and publish results (hours saved, SLA improvements, error rates, cost-to-serve). Coordinate with security/compliance and IT as needed on data access, controls, and auditability, and ensure solutions meet operational reliability requirements. Required Skills and Experience • Product Management Experience: 4+ years in Product Management (or Technical Program/Product Operations with clear product ownership), ideally for internal tools, operations platforms, workflow automation, or enterprise software., • Technical Fluency in AI & Systems: Comfortable partnering with engineers on APIs, data flows, and system integrations; familiarity with LLM capabilities/limitations, evaluation, and prompt patterns. You can discuss tradeoffs without needing to be the primary builder., • Build-vs-Buy & Vendor Collaboration: Experience evaluating build vs buy tradeoffs, partnering with engineering on technical due diligence, and leading vendor implementations (requirements, integration scope, rollout readiness, adoption, and value realization)., • Strong Requirements & Documentation: Produce clear PRDs, user stories, process maps, and release notes; define acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes that engineers and stakeholders align on., • Transportation/Logistics Experience (Required): Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or 3PL environments with hands-on understanding of operational workflows (dispatch, warehouse, billing, customer service) and their systems/constraints., • Data-Driven Prioritization: Experience building business cases, sizing impact, defining KPIs, and tracking ROI post-launch; comfortable with dashboards and experimentation/iteration., • Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven ability to align engineering, operations, and executives; manage stakeholder expectations; and drive adoption through training, communication, and support readiness. Benefits The company offers medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as basic and voluntary life and voluntary ancillary coverages for accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity.
