Job DescriptionSalary: $90,000 - $100,000 The Director of Curriculum & Instruction is responsible for supervising teaching and assistant teaching staff in a special educaion school, mentoring new staff, developing professional development, and overseeing curriculum development. Qualifications • An administrative credential granted by an accredited postsecondary educational institution, • A minimum of three years of experience teaching pupils in special education, • Experience mentoring teaching candidates in a special education program, • Proficient in Google Classroom, • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of staff members, • Ability to problem-solve, • Highly organized, • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of Mardan School Duties & Responsibilities • Teacher & Assistant Teacher Supervision, • Supervise teachers and teaching assistants, • Perform class observations, • Conduct annual teacher and assistant teacher evaluations, • Develop and implement teacher improvement plans as needed, • Ensure proper coverage when program staff is absent, • Regularly meet with teaching teams, • Staff Meetings & Professional Development, • Lead grade-level staff meetings, • Develop and lead professional development as needed, • Curriculum, • Keep current with state and district curriculum requirements, • Review and purchase appropriate curriculum materials, • Track graduation requirements for all districts, • Instructional Planning, • Assist the Program Director with scheduling, programming, and credit tracking HOURS, PAY, & BENEFITS: • The position is IN PERSON for 12 months per year, • 10 paid personal days (prorated if not working the entire year), • 5 weeks of vacation per year (prorated if not working the entire year), • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans, • LTD Insurance, • 403B and SEP/IRA Retirement Plans with employer contribution Comments and Other Information NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE The position requires a livescan/fingerprint (done at the time of hire), current TB clearance, and responses from references.
