Job DescriptionSalary: $26 - $30 per hour Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Classification: Non-Exempt Status: Full Time Reports to: Pharmacist JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective The full-time pharmacy technician position is responsible for preparing medications for patient consumption under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard departmental procedures. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Performs duties assigned by a licensed pharmacist. Areas of work are checked routinely for maintenance of quality control. Work is conducted in accordance with generally accepted standards of practice, following departmental procedures and policies as outlined in the department operations manual., • Performs essential duties of a Pharmacy Technician as needed, • Assist with the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of pharmacy services, • Orders pharmacy supplies and medications, • Assist with oversight of budgets, management of expenses, and inventory control, • Utilize Epic EHR to request refills, check the status of new prescriptions from our providers in the clinic, • Prepare and package mail-out prescriptions under the direct supervision of the pharmacist, • Assisting in completing prior authorizations through Cover My Meds (CMM), • Participate in protocol, policy, and procedure development, • Ensures the pharmacy is adhering to the 340B Drug Pricing Program rules, • Continuously evaluate pharmacy activities to ensure quality patient care, effective staff relations, efficient customer services, and to improve pharmacy program performance metrics, • Other related duties as assigned. Competencies Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities Work Environment This job operates in a health care setting. This position requires frequent standing and walking to storage shelves and filling counters to fill prescriptions. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The ability to see distinctions in colors and shapes is also required.This position is moderately active and requires standing and walking for the duration of the shift. Required Education and Experience QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Prefer 3+ years experience as a Pharmacy Technician. 3+ years experience with third party billing very helpful, as is experience with electronic medical records. Management or Pharmacy business experience in a small to mid-sized company preferred. Experience with 340B programs, PioneerRx is preferred. Education: Valid Washington State Pharmacy Technician license. Other Skills: Above average computer user skills required. This position requires the following qualifications to perform the above duties and carry out the above responsibilities: • Has strong working knowledge and compassion for Indian culture, underserved populations, social service systems, and community resources, • Has demonstrated strong organizational skills, ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time and correctly process, fill, package, and dispense prescription with a low error rate., • Has demonstrated the ability to communicate both orally and in writing in an effective and timely manner, • Schedule flexibility, • Has ability to work in a team environment, both in leadership and peer relationships, • Has demonstrated strong proofreading and editing skills with excellent grammatical skills, • Can capably operate a variety of office equipment, such as a computer, photocopier, scanner, printer, etc., • Can capably use Microsoft Word and has ability to be trained to capably use other software programs, such as Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access., • Has ability to move 25-50 lb. items, able to stand for extended periods of time, and manage stress., • Uses Sacred Hospitality in serving patients and peers., • Can successfully pass a criminal background check, OIG check and a pre-employment UA/BA.
