Job Description Job: Float Phlebotomist II Location: Liverpool, NY 13088, US Shift: 8am to 5pm or 9am to 6pm (40 hrs/week) Pay Range: $20/hr- $22.23/hr We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients with precision and care, ensuring the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and patient comfort. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and techniques, demonstrate excellent patient service skills, and have experience working in clinical or hospital settings. This position offers an opportunity to contribute significantly to patient care and diagnostic processes through accurate specimen collection and processing. Responsibilities • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling using aseptic techniques to ensure specimen integrity., • Collect blood specimens according to established laboratory procedures while maintaining patient safety and comfort., • Label, process, and transport specimens accurately to the laboratory for analysis., • Monitor and record vital signs when necessary, providing comprehensive patient care during collection., • Maintain a clean, organized work environment adhering to infection control protocols., • Assist with specimen processing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and documentation., • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, address concerns, and ensure a positive experience., • Follow all safety guidelines related to blood collection, handling hazardous materials, and infection prevention., • Support laboratory staff by preparing supplies and maintaining inventory levels as needed., • Proven laboratory experience with a focus on phlebotomy or specimen collection in clinical or hospital environments., • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic procedures., • Certification or training in phlebotomy is preferred; relevant certifications are highly regarded., • Strong understanding of venipuncture techniques and blood sampling procedures., • Familiarity with hospital protocols for patient care and specimen handling., • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient service., • Attention to detail in specimen labeling, documentation, and data entry.
