Job Description We're developing a next-generation medical device that combines a high-resolution touchscreen interface with wireless connectivity and precise hardware control. We’re seeking a full-time highly-skilled embedded firmware developer to join our team. Project Overview: • Platform: NXP i.MX RT1176 microcontroller, • RTOS: FreeRTOS, • UI Framework: LVGL (Light and Versatile Graphics Library), • Connectivity: BLE/Wi-Fi module (via UART/SPI), • Cloud Integration: AWS IoT Core / MQTT / HTTPS for secure data exchange, • Hardware Interfaces: GPIO, I2C (and potentially others), • Key Features: • Over-the-air (OTA) firmware updates, • Graphical touchscreen UI, • Real-time hardware control, • Secure cloud connectivity, • Robust communication with wireless accessoriesYour Responsibilities: • Develop and maintain embedded firmware in C/C++ targeting the RT1176, • Implement user interfaces using LVGL for a high-resolution touchscreen, • Integrate BLE/Wi-Fi communication (with OTA update support), • Interface with AWS cloud using MQTT, HTTPS, or AWS IoT SDKs for data publishing, telemetry, and commands, • Interface with sensors and peripherals via I2C, GPIO, UART, etc., • Write modular, maintainable, and well-documented code, • Collaborate with our hardware and design team to ensure seamless integration, • Debug and optimize for performance, memory use, and reliability, • Debug and troubleshoot firmware and hardware issues as they ariseRequirements:, • Strong experience with embedded C/C++ on ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers, • Proven experience with FreeRTOS in production systems, • Hands-on experience with LVGL or similar embedded GUI libraries, • Comfortable with low-level hardware development (register-level work, bootloaders, peripheral drivers), • Experience with AWS IoT Core, MQTT, HTTPS, or RESTful APIs on embedded systems, • Familiarity with TLS/SSL, certificates, and secure cloud communication, • Proficient in integrating BLE/Wi-Fi modules (e.g., ESP32 or Murata, via AT commands or SDK), • Experience with OTA update implementations, • Familiarity with BLE/Wi-Fi integration (via modules, not necessarily stacks), • Competent using JTAG/SWD debuggers, • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with a remote teamNice to Have:, • Experience with NXP MCUXpresso SDK or RT117x-specific toolchains, • Familiarity with secure boot, firmware signing, and secure OTA pipelines, • Understanding of display drivers and touchscreen drivers, • Competent in using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, • Prior work on medical or safety-critical devicesTo Apply: Please share: • A brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience, • Examples of past embedded projects, especially involving GUIs and RTOS, • Any contributions to LVGL, open-source projects, or firmware repos (if available), • Your availability and estimated hourly or project rate.
