Job Description *When applying, select branch "San Antonio - Piedras" * LOD Staffing has immediate opening for Public Service Associate Job Summary Under immediate supervision, is responsible for preparing, delivering, filing, and sorting materials; performs general clerical work. Exercises no supervision. Essential Job Functions • Receives, sorts, delivers, and processes incoming and outgoing mail and incoming records., • May calculate appropriate postage using a variety of equipment and software applications., • Prepares and attaches all forms required by the U. S. Postal Service in accordance with postal regulations (i.e., certified, registered, and insured mail.)., • Inspects mail to assure addressing meets minimum requirements., • Answers telephones, greets and assists the public, and maintains files by departments operating office equipment., • May pick up and deliver supplies, parts, and materials., • May inspect and clean vehicles and work area., • May process requests for records and microfilm copies., • Locates and retrieves stored records for information as requested, may require lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds., • May issue permits, licenses, applications, and certificates of occupancy., • May collect permit and license fees., • May perform basic clerical accounting duties, to include preparing and, • submitting cash turn-in reports., • Prepares records for microfilming and disposal., • Performs related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required. Job Requirements • High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)., • One (1) year clerical experience; Or completion of the SA: Ready to Work: Industries Finance/Insurance or Healthcare or Professional Services/Other training program., • Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of general office procedures., • Knowledge of mailroom procedures and postal regulations., • Knowledge of basic accounting skills., • Skill in utilizing a personal computer and associated software programs (including postal and microfilm equipment)., • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively., • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with, • employees, clients, management, and the general public., • Ability to learn building codes, policies, and ordinances., • Ability to reference and interpret postal regulations and services., • Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with others., • Ability to perform all the physical requirements of the job, with or without accommodations. Working Environment Indoor work, operating computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, repetitive motion. Use of personal computer equipment, telephone, multi-functioning printer. Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions or other business related events. Physical and Mental Requirements Exerting up to 40 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.
