Job Description Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour Position Title: Medical Assistant Job Description Required one of these Current License: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), License Practical Nurse (LPN), Registered Nurse (RN) Respitory Therapist (RT,RRT), EMT Job Summary / Purpose: Shift: 1 The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting the Medical Director, Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Director and Office manager with Patient Charts, Patients, Wound Care and HBOT Treatments. Essential Key Job Responsibilities • Implements the physician’s and/or Nurse Practitioners order as indicated by the patient’s treatment plan., • Performs hyperbaric treatments and monitors the patient during therapy., • Performs basic dressing changes and/or wound care within scope of practice, as ordered., • Takes serial photographs and measurements of the wound for reporting of the patient’s progress., • Participates in all safety and fire drills., • Keep up with all education and yearly learning modules., • Retrieving patient medical records from required physicians to support the need for wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy and the patients care., • Obtains preauthorization for Wound Care, hyperbaric therapy and other procedures within ROC., • Documents wound care visits and treatment notes and maintains patient wound care and treatment records., • Answer phone inquiries and schedule patient treatment appointments., • Maintains a clean environment in the Wound Care room, hyperbaric chambers and hyperbaric suite., • Participates in ROC staff meetings, • Maintains a safe environment and follows all ROC policies and procedures., • Assisting providers with initial hyperbaric appointments., • Assists provider and nurse with any emergent hyperbaric events., • Assists patients in/out of wheelchairs, on/off of the hyperbaric gurneys., • Assists with patients in/out of their vehicles to come to appointments., • Assist patients with positioning on wound care chairs and hyperbaric gurneys. Must be able to: • Lift 50 lbs., • Push/Pull 30+ lbs., • Carry 20lbs., • Reach/ Grasp, • Bend at the hips, • Twisting, • Hearing, • Seeing (Color/Depth Perception), • Seeing (Near/Fair Field of Vision), • Acute Mental Situations, • Contact with Physicians/Staff/Patients/Family, • Frequent training and Re-training, • Day/Night/Weekend Flexible Shifts, • Blood borne pathogens, • Follow procedures for MDROs including patient handling, use of PPE and hygiene of equipment and facility.
